Hello Mr. Womack!! Talk about making a name for yourself on the big stage. Womack typically makes himself known on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball for the Hawks, but last Friday night, he made a splash on special teams. Womack ran not one but two different kickoffs back for a touchdown of 99 and 98 yards, respectively. He was responsible for 207 kickoff return yards and two touchdowns. Not only did he explode on special teams, but he also had two receiving touchdowns on three catches in the Hawks’ 63-56 win over MRA.
Nate Blount IV Nate Blount IV 5'11" | 220 lbs | RB Brandon | 2024 State MS | SR | RB | Brandon
The senior running back had another outstanding performance this Friday night against Petal. Blount had 175 total yards and found the endzone three times in the Bulldogs’ 54-17 victory over Petal. Blount is back to proper form, punishing defenses with the ball in his hands. He is a physical back with enough speed to break away from the opposing defense when he gets in the open field.
Braylon Brown | SR | DE | Northwest Rankin
For those around the Magnolia State that didn’t already know, consider yourself told the Cougars have something special going on the defensive side of the ball this year. Brown had a killer night for the Cougars in their big win over cross-town rival Pearl Pirates 21-13. The Pearl offense had no true answer for this young man. He had seven total tackles, with four of them for a loss. He was responsible for two sacks and one fumble recovery.

Garrison Davis Garrison Davis 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB Holmes County Central | 2025 State MS makes the list for the second time in three weeks. The junior quarterback from Holmes County is what I would consider an absolute field general. He is a special player and would have my vote as the middle-of-the-year MVP for the Jaguars. He led the Jaguars to a blowout victory over Greenville 42-0, completing 11 of his 16 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns.
Zach Gullung | SR | RB | Hancock
Making his debut on CP’s top performers list is Zach Gullung. This past Friday night, he had a strong performance when the Hawks were victorious over West Harrison 42-26. Gullung carried the ball 27 times, racking up 164 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Gullung really impressed me with the vision he ran with on Friday night. I knew he could be shifty at times, somewhat reminding me of the Wes Welker type of player, but I didn’t realize he could see the holes open up behind his offensive line as quickly as he did this past weekend.
