We now have a better understanding of which teams are genuinely talented, which teams may have had a stroke of luck in the first few weeks, and which teams are looking to improve for next season. I will provide a preview for each game in week 7 by conference for the 5A level. Up next is the Northwest Oregon Conference. Each game will include a prediction and highlight some players from each team to watch based on their recent performances.
Southridge (1-5) @ #1 Wilsonville (5-1)
Prediction: Wilsonville def. Southridge 57-6.
The game between Southridge and Wilsonville is predicted to be an easy one for the Wildcats. Southridge is struggling this season due to the rebuilding phase they are going through. On the other hand, Wilsonville is the polar opposite and is expected to win the 5A title. However, the game will provide a chance for the younger players in Wilsonville to display their abilities.

#6 Canby (4-2) @ Hood River Valley (3-3)
Prediction: Canby def. Hood River Valley 35-14.
Hood River Valley is a solid team that can cause problems for any team on any night. With that being said, Canby has been rolling since that 0-2 start and should be able to extend their winning streak to five games after this one. If Hood River is to stand any chance, they will have to find a way to slow down Tyler Konold Tyler Konold 6'0" | 200 lbs | ATH Canby | 2024 State OR , but I don’t see it happening. Canby should pull away at some point in this game.

#15 Hillsboro (4-2) @ Forest Grove (3-3)
Prediction: Hillsboro def. Forest Grove 45-28.
Hillsboro made it to the top fifteen in my rankings this week despite suffering a blowout defeat to Wilsonville. They put up a good fight in that game and proved they deserved to be placed high in the rankings. I believe they will emerge victorious against Forest Grove this week and be a formidable opponent in the playoffs, whoever they face.

Putnam (0-6) @ Centennial (0-6)
Prediction: Centennial def. Putnam 35-14.
The battle of the two winless teams should end with the Eagles getting their first win on their new turf field. Both teams are far from elite, but I believe there is more talent on the Eagles’ side than the Kingsmen’s. We will see if Centennial can get the ball into the hands of their playmakers; that is something they have struggled to do so far this season.
