We now have a better understanding of which teams are genuinely talented, which teams may have had a stroke of luck in the first few weeks, and which teams are looking to improve for next season. I will provide a preview for each game in week 6 by conference for the 5A level. Up next is the Northwest Oregon Conference. Each game will include a prediction and highlight some players from each team to watch based on their recent performances.
Important Note: Putnam has forfeited two games versus Hillsboro in week 5 and Hood River Valley in week 6. They are planning to resume play in week 7 on the road against Centennial. Hood River Valley has been awarded an extra win. Hood River Valley has a record of 3-3 and will not play a game this week.
#1 Wilsonville (4-1) @ Hillsboro (4-1)
Prediction: Wilsonville def. Hillsboro 49-13.
Hillsboro’s football team has had an easy schedule to start the season, but they are in for a challenge this week. They will face off against the top-ranked team, Wilsonville, who will visit Hillsboro. If the Spartans want to pull off the upset, they will have to play a flawless game. However, I don’t believe that it will happen, and I predict that Wilsonville will come out on top as they are the superior team.

#7 Canby (3-2) @ Centennial (0-5)
Prediction: Canby def. Centennial 57-7.
Based on recent performance, it appears that Centennial may struggle against Canby. The Cougars had a rough start with two losses at the beginning of the season, but they should improve to a 4-2 record with a win in this game. Tyler Konold Tyler Konold 6'0" | 200 lbs | ATH Canby | 2024 State OR had an impressive performance last week, scoring three touchdowns against Southridge, and I expect him to shine again in this game. Considering that the Eagles have been conceding an average of 38.6 points per game, Canby is likely to dominate and secure a victory.

Highlights
Forest Grove (2-3) @ Southridge (1-4)
Prediction: Forest Grove def. Southridge 42-30.
This week’s game between Forest Grove and Southridge is expected to be a close one, as both teams are evenly matched. However, I believe that Forest Grove has a slight advantage due to their quarterback play with Kaden Hale Kaden Hale 6'3" | 200 lbs | ATH Forest Grove | 2024 State OR . He is expected to excel in this game, and I predict that the Vikings will come out on top with a win over Southridge.
