We now have a better understanding of which teams are genuinely talented, which teams may have had a stroke of luck in the first few weeks, and which teams are looking to improve for next season. I will provide a preview for each game in week 7 by conference for the 5A level. The Mid-Willamette Conference is up next. Each game will include a prediction and highlight some players from each team to watch based on their recent performances.
#10 McKay (5-1) @ #2 Silverton (6-0)
Prediction: Silverton def. McKay 38-14.
McKay has been a pleasant surprise in the early part of the season. However, the next three weeks will be challenging for them. They are scheduled to play Silverton this week, West Albany the next week, and Lebanon in the following week, who they barely beat in week 1. Silverton is undoubtedly one of the best teams in 5A, which means they will likely have a tough time against them if Silverton is who we think they are.

#7 West Albany (5-1) @ Crescent Valley (2-4)
Prediction: West Albany def. Crescent Valley 49-21.
Last week, West Albany suffered a huge upset, losing to South Albany by 14-20. As a result, they fell from their previous second place to seventh in the weekly rankings. It was an unexpected loss, and they should not have let it happen. However, I believe that they will make a strong comeback this week and they will defeat Crescent Valley, despite their high-powered offense.

#9 Dallas (4-2) @ South Albany (2-4)
Prediction: Dallas def. South Albany 27-16.
South Albany had a huge win last week when they defeated their biggest rival West Albany 20-14. The victory was a remarkable achievement for the team and coaches, especially since West Albany is a title contender this season. However, I don’t think they have shown enough this season for me to predict they defeat a strong Dallas squad this week. If, by some chance, the RedHawks emerge victorious, they will likely enter the top 15 next week and be in contention for the playoffs.

#13 Lebanon (3-3) @ Central (1-5)
Prediction: Lebanon def. Central 49-7.
Lebanon started the season with three losses but has since won three games in a row and demonstrated their true potential. On the other hand, Central has been struggling all season and I anticipate their struggles to continue this week. My prediction is that Lebanon will secure a decisive victory over Central.

Corvallis (2-4) @ Woodburn (0-6)
Prediction: Corvallis def. Woodburn 45-13.
Corvallis is a decent team that has had its share of ups and downs this season. They have been able to beat teams of similar skill level but have struggled against powerhouse programs like Silverton and West Albany. This week, they have an easier matchup against Woodburn, and I believe they will win comfortably. However, if Woodburn can keep the game close, they may have a chance to pull off an upset.
