One of those is being a multi-sport athlete. High school football in Georgia contains some of the best talent in the country, but so do other sports. So occasionally, you will have some crossover. Here are some of the best multi-sport football athletes the state has to offer.
Bryce Clavon Bryce Clavon 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB Kell | 2024 State GA – 2024 – QB – Kell
You can’t mention multi-sport athletes without mentioning Bryce Clavon Bryce Clavon 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB Kell | 2024 State GA . Clavon has done nothing but impress at a high level on the gridiron for the past few years. He is an incredible athlete who can extend plays and gash defenses with his legs. He has booming arm strength, some might even be surprised by how hard the ball comes out of his hand when you look at his size. He has always been a hard-ball thrower with the ability to get the ball out of his hand quickly and attack tighter windows. However, this year he has really showcased some impressive touch and command on his deep ball. He appears to throw with good timing, getting the ball out of his hand as the receiver is getting out of his break. He plays with tremendous poise and toughness, hanging tough in the pocket and putting plenty of trust in his receivers. He doesn’t appear late on reads and generally steps up on the big stage once pressure mounts. Clavon has numerous FBS football offers, and he should be on the P5 radar. Why aren’t those offers coming? Well, maybe it’s because he’s a legit MLB draft prospect. Whether in football, baseball, or both, Clavon is an elite athlete with the intangibles off the charts. Clavon is a P5-caliber QB prospect and an MLB draft prospect. You don’t see those too often. Therefore, I am betting on him to shine as his career unfolds.
Chase Tyler Chase Tyler 6'4" | 175 lbs | WR Hiram | 2024 State GA – 2024 – ATH – Hiram
Tyler is one of the most impressive prospects physically in Georgia. At 6’4 170, he is off the charts when it comes to length and is noticeably lanky with plenty of room to fill out. He hasn’t reached his peak physically but is a natural athlete who can scoot around the field. He simply out-strides and outruns DBs. He can also tighten up his footwork and has the dip in his shoulder and fluidity in his hips to get in front of defenders. Not to mention, at 6’4 170 with some of the agility and leaping ability he brings over from the basketball court, Tyler is able to go up and get the ball. Tyler shows some upside as a DB, overwhelming WRs with his length. He also does a good job of locating the football and jumping routes. Basketball is a sport that requires constant change of direction, explosiveness, and the patience to let plays develop. Chase Tyler Chase Tyler 6'4" | 175 lbs | WR Hiram | 2024 State GA brings all of those over to the football field. Tyler is headed to Duke, giving the Blue Devils an athletic mismatch problem at WR who could develop into a P5 difference-maker in a few years.
Hayden Tumminia – 2025 – LB – Milton
Tumminia is a four-sport letterman who has been the glue in the middle of the defense this year for Milton. Tumminia is a stout 5’11 210. He might not check ideal size boxes, but he plays with outstanding leverage, body control, and has good spatial awareness. You can tell that his wrestling experience has translated to football. In 1 v 1 tackling situations, Tumminia plays low to the ground with a sturdy base. He doesn’t get caught lunging to make tackles. Instead, he maintains his low pad level throughout the tackling process and generates the push from his lower body to finish plays. Much like in wrestling, he is able to scoot around while staying low to the ground and maintaining leverage on his opposition. Tumminia appears calm and collected when he drops back into coverage, always checking his zone in his peripherals and keeps his eyes stalking on the QB. Tumminia is also a varsity athlete in lacrosse and track. He might not be the kind of prospect who receives major P5 attention, but he easily grades out as a D1 player and checks plenty of the intangible boxes as well.
Alex Sanchez – 2025 – WR – Grayson
Sanchez broke onto the recruiting radar this offseason and picked up some P5 offers. He is simply the size and speed combo that every P5 coach in the country is searching for. He comes in at 6’2 185 with a muscular frame. When he has the ball in space, he is not easy to bring down. He has the giddy-up and quick acceleration to eviscerate cushion between himself and the defender quickly. By the time the DB has flipped his hips to run, Sanchez is fully in his stride. He is a pretty polished route runner as well, getting right up on defenders and tightly breaking off his routes, leaving DBs reeling and reaching to catch up to him. Sanchez is a raw athlete with plus athleticism and size. He is firmly on the P5 radar, and I am willing to bet he has several more major offers a year from now. Sanchez is yet another difference-maker in baseball. He is a big lefty at the plate who is also turning heads.
CJ Britt CJ Britt 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Lanier Christian Academy | 2026 State GA – 2026 – QB – Lanier Christian
Britt has lit up the stat sheet his first two years on varsity and has generated plenty of buzz as a result. Britt is a young, raw athlete with good physical upside. He comes in at 6’1 180 and doesn’t appear to be even close to his peak physically. He stands tall in the pocket, has the arm strength to sling the ball outside the hashes, and has the touch to place the ball on the seams. He has a clean delivery, throwing off a good base and keeping his head still throughout his motion. Britt is more of a high-volume passer, but he is athletic enough to extend plays and maneuver around the pocket. Britt is also a productive basketball prospect, so he carries over some of that explosiveness and competitive nature to football. As long as he keeps producing and maximizing his game physically, Britt will continue to turn heads.
