Donjavion Brown Donjavion Brown LB Carver | 2025 State AL has been an incredibly reliable and productive middle linebacker for Carver the last few seasons, and so far his junior season has been off to a great start. Brown plays with a ton of speed and physicality- and when you pair that up with his instincts, he’s a force to be reckoned with. Brown is able to locate and make plays on the ball with great ease, he has a ton of sideline to sideline speed and is able to make tackles all across the field. Last week, Brown had a massive game against Daphne, leading the defense to only allowing 7 points and individually putting up 15 total tackles and 2 sacks as well. Brown had a massive impact on the game- were going to have to keep track of him because he’s set up for a massive junior year if he keeps this up!
Joseph Phillips Joseph Phillips 6’3″ | 225 lbs | LB Tuskegee | 2024 State AL has been ridiculous in his time at Booker T. Washington as he has dominated across the state since his freshman year, and his senior year has been continuing that trend with no signs of slowing down. Phillips has become a national recruit over the years and recently committed to Auburn- and deservedly so, at OLB Phillips has been an absolute menace for opposing offenses to deal with. Phillips has elite athleticism, incredible instincts, and plays with unreal effort- every snap he’s working at his max level and he consistently is able to make huge plays because of it. Last friday was no different as Phillips had a huge game against Tallassee where they won 44-0. In addition to the shutout, Phillips contributed a ton with his eight total tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks. Phillips is an incredibly talented player be sure to watch him in his last season before he heads to Auburn!
Deangelo Barber Deangelo Barber 6’1″ | 220 lbs | LB Clay Chalkville | 2024 State AL has been a phenomenal piece of Clay Chalkville’s defense and this year is no different, Barber has been on a tear his first two games of the year. Barber is a talented linebacker that has become one of the top defensive players in not just the state, but his class as well. Barber is a threat against the run and pass in a variety of ways, he’s shown that he’s got tons of talent in pass rush, coverage, and stopping the run- you can really ask him to do anything as a coach and he’ll be able to at a very high level. Barber had a huge game last Friday against Hueytown that featured him totaling up 13 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. It shouldn’t be a shock to see Barber put up numbers like that, the Auburn commit, has a ton of talent and a bright future ahead!
Malik Autry Malik Autry 6’5″ | 260 lbs | DL Opelika | 2025 State AL is off to a terrific start to his junior season, the Opelika defensive linemen has progressively gotten more destructive since his freshman season and is set up for a massive year. Autry has a ton of power, finesse, and pursuit- when you pair that with his incredibly quick burst off the line of scrimmage it causes a ton of destruction to offenses. Autry is an incredibly talented guy, and last Friday he wrecked havoc in the trenches for Opelika. In total, Autry totaled up five tackles for loss and two sacks against Jefferson Davis. Autry has been terrific this season and has become one of the top DL prospects in the entire 2025 class, recently Autry committed to Auburn- keep track of him as he continues his junior year!
