From the Panhandle to south Florida, there are several programs that have started to share the spotlight.
One of those programs that is coming fast are the Titans of Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast, and head coach Irvin Jones and his team have been down this road before.
As the No. 20 team in the state puts their 3-0 record on the line Friday at No. 5 Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, there is no intimidation factor involved here. They played the four-time defending state champions last year, losing at home 21-7.
While they fully respect head coach Roger Harriott and the Raiders, they have also had a challenging schedule and will use Cocoa, a team they play next week, as a barometer for this meeting in Fort Lauderdale.
The Tigers lost a heartbreaker in Fort Lauderdale, and Treasure Coast knows that if their come to play, they will be in the game as well. Remember, three years ago, they upended nationally rated Plantation American Heritage, so they know what they are up against.
With easily one of the top schedules in the state, the Titans are ready for their share of the spotlight.
