After week six of high school football action in the Volunteer State, it's time to highlight some highly impactful standouts on the defensive side of the ball that have made a name for themselves on the field this season. Today, we will be focusing our attention on some talented junior defensive linemen in Tennessee that have established themselves and made a considerable difference so far. Without any further ado, here's my list of some #TN2025 defensive lineman to watch in week seven of competition.

At the top of my list of notable standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='219447' first='Ethan' last='Utley'], a 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive lineman at Ensworth High School. Despite Utley and his teammates falling to Memphis University last week, Utley still made his presence known defensively. In addition to excellent size, speed and quick execution, what impresses me most about Utley is how he exerts his strength and can push off the offensive line to stop the rush, charge the pocket and apply pressure on the quarterback. Another aspect of Utley's playstyle that makes a difference is his ability to read the offense and make commanding stops, resulting in the occassional loose ball.

I am additionally impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='611975' first='Kalen' last='Edwards'], a 6-foot-4, 315-pound defensive lineman at Dyersburg High School. Edwards and the Trojans remain undefeated on the season, handing Jackson North Side High School a 21-13 loss last week. In addition to outstanding size and physicality, Edwards stands out due to his defensive explosiveness and ability to inevitably overpower the offensive line. Another aspect of Edwards that makes him a gamechanger on the defensive side is his ability to pushback against the offense and stop the run along the edge. I'm also fond of how Edwards uses his speed to quickly make stops, proving he can dive forward to disrupt the run game.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='848825' first='Racim' last='Bachammar'], a 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive lineman at McCallie High School. Bachammar and the Blue Tornado are flawless on the season, recently defeating Montgomery Bell Academy by a final score of 35-0. What makes Bachammar such a reliable defensive weapon is his ability to march forward, blasting the offensive line to open up the field and create space for the defense to attack the ball and apply pressure. Bachammar also stands out with his ability to shut down offensive playmaker both on the ground and down the stretch, contributing impressive strength and the ability to be disruptive.

Another skilled prospect to keep an eye on is [player_tooltip player_id='855556' first='Kyler' last='Garcia'], a 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive lineman at Pearl Cohn High School. Garcia and the Firebirds have been unstoppable, recently handing Station Camp High School a 55-0 blowout loss. What impresses me about Garcia is his ability to squeeze past the offensive line, apply pressure and quickly blast the quarterback to the ground. Garcia contributes solid defensive precision and execution, showing off his ability to stun the offensive line with his swift attacking and versatile edge. Garcia also stands out with his ability to suffocate the offense in the pocket and stop the run.

Coming in at number five on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='501903' first='Aiden' last='Elmore'], a 6-foot-2, 220-pound defensive lineman at Franklin High School. Despite falling to Summit High School last week, Elmore has been a defensive gamechanger for the Admirals this season. What stands out about Elmore is his footwork and ability to quickly overwhelm the offensive line both in the pocket and along the edge, showing off his efficient stopping power and ability to pressure the quarterback. Elmore's overall strength also makes him a reliable defensive weapon, standing strong against multiple players to break free of the opposition, making crucial tackles and sacks when his team needs it the most.

Another notable playmaker worth mentioning is [player_tooltip player_id='390665' first='Quinton' last='Humphrey'], a 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive lineman at Greeneville High School. Humphrey and the Greene Devils were explosive this past week, defeating Volunteer High School in a 55-0 blowout win. Humphrey stands out due to his deceptive playstyle and ability to break free of offensive pushback at the perfect time, proving he can shut down the run game both in the pocket and along the edge, consistently keeping playmakers out of the backfield. In the pocket, Humphrey has showcased his ability to absorb contact and attack the rush, making an impact on all four downs.
