In the big moments, he maintained his composure and made the big throws when he needed to. He wasn't the most consistently accurate passer, but he had a few good throws. He was big in the running game and picked up a few long runs, along with a TD on the ground. 120 passing yards, 55% completion, and 1 TD with 98 yards on the ground and a TD. He's a good athlete with room to develop. He's a fun back to watch who has a good natural feel for the game and the position. He's dynamic and can hit the hole with speed. He does a good job sticking his foot in the ground to get vertical when the gap opens up. He had a handful of big plays that kept drives alive or sparked the offense when they were in a lull. He not only ran the ball effectively, but was involved in the passing game, and returned kicks. 235 total yards and 2 TDs on the night for Verrett, but more importantly, this is a breakout season for him. That game should put him over 1,000 rushing yards and 18 TDs on the year. He stands out in a good way on the field and has a fantastic build. He's someone who just looks good getting off the bus and then follows it up with high-level play. He's strong, good in the trenches, and has enough length to have success at the next level. He was amped up on big downs and felt the juice from the crowd, which helped the defense bounce back when needed. I appreciated his high-energy motor and thought he played well.
