Today, we will be exploring an assortment of different players across different positions that should be intriguing prospects to watch in week seven. Without any further ado, here’s my list of some of the top standouts in the Bluegrass State to watch for in week seven of competition.
At the top of my list of notable performers is Traevon Berry Traevon Berry 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Paul Laurence Dunbar | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-3, 185-pound wide receiver at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. Berry impresses me with his relentless speed and physicality along the edge, showcasing his ability to efficiently position himself to quickly turn around for passes and bolt into the backfield. Berry also stands out due to his ability to haul in challenging passes under pressure and utilize bursts of speed to maneuver the defense on his way to the endzone. Another aspect of Berry’s playstyle that makes a difference is his ability to stay on his feet and break tackles after the catch.

I am additionally impressed with Logan Smith Logan Smith 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Calloway County | 2026 State KY , a 5-foot-11, 170-pound athlete at Calloway County High School. Smith has been a gamechanger on both sides this season, standing out offensively with his durability, proving he can stay on his feet in the pocket and find openings to escape into the backfield. Defensively, Smith has impressed me with his ability to suffocate playmakers in the pocket and quickly attack the ball off the snap. Smith has also showcased his ability to read the offense as he can barrel through the line, consistently stop the run and apply heavy pressure on the quarterback.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is Israel Carter-Swanigan, a 5-foot-9, 125-pound defensive back at Owensboro High School. In addition to outstanding athleticism and versatility down the stretch, Carter-Swanigan stands out with his ability to blast receivers to the ground and disrupt reliable passing lanes. Carter-Swanigan additionally catches my attention with his ability to quickly drop offensive playmakers to the ground on quick passes and stop the run. Another aspect of Carter-Swanigan that impresses is his ability to read the quarterback and blast past the offense to make sacks.

Another skilled prospect to keep an eye on is Jaylen Bass Jaylen Bass 5'10" | 270 lbs | OL Mayfield | 2024 KY , a 5-foot-10, 270-pound offensive lineman at Mayfield High School. What impresses me the most about Bass is his explosiveness and physical edge, proving he can blast the defense, create running room along the edge and absorb pressure off the snap. Bass’s overall strength also stands out, utilizing his stance and speed to push the defense back and buy his quarterback more time to make plays. Bass also makes a difference with his ability to disrupt the blitz and put up an immovable wall to protect his teammates from the defense.
