09/22: Wayne vs Geneva
Under the lights on Friday night was a huge game at Geneva High School when Wayne Central came in to make a statement. Wayne did make that statement winning the ball game in a 24 to 12 final score. One of the biggest plays of the game was early in the first quarter when Thomas Ashby Thomas Ashby 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Wayne | 2025 State NY was able to cause a fumble by shooting right by the TE to create penetration. Additionally, Ashby produced a 22-yard TD run where he followed the pull action block and bounced the run outside to put six points on the board. Ashby was a consistent downhill RB all night and put his team in some great field positions by picking up huge chunks of yardage on many of his runs. Alexander Garrow is the QB for Wayne, and he was also able to create an electric 26-yard run for his team. On the run, Garrow put on a smooth spin move to leave the defender behind in the open field to pick up extra yardage deep into the red zone of Geneva. Later in the game, Garrow was able to punch in the first score on a 1-yard TD run. It was a promising win for Wayne and a game that show great importance to their team.

09/22: Webster-Schroeder vs Webster-Thomas
Coming into the ball game, this was a huge matchup that everyone wanted to see because of how big of rivals these two teams are. Webster-Schroeder over the past couple weeks have shown how tough of a ball club they are, and once again on Friday they showed it in a 41-7 final score. Early in the game on a 3rd & 8, Webster-Schroeder was able to cause a tipped ball into the air where it was returned for a TD. Then on a very odd play, QB Andrew Hilfiker was able to deliver a pass that seemed to have gotten tipped at the line of scrimmage. Hilifiker’s receiver was able to come down with the football and a swarm of Webster-Schroeder blockers pushed the receiver into the end zone. It was a very strange play but showed how motivated this Webster-Schroeder team was to win this game. To put the game away in the 3rd quarter, RB Anthony DeRosa Anthony DeRosa 5'8" | 160 lbs | DB Webster Schroeder | 2024 NY ran a beautiful wheel route to the corner of the end zone. DeRosa was wide open and Hilfiker was able to place the ball in a perfect spot. This is now this fifth straight game that Webster-Schroeder has beaten Webster-Thomas.
09/23: Greece Arcadia vs Edison Tech
This was a 44 to 0 beat down that Greece Arcadia was able to produce when they took on Edison Tech on Saturday. Edison Tech simply could not get the ball moving on the offensive side and the Greece Arcadia defense posed as such a major task to overcome. On one play deep into Edison Tech territory, Xaiver Smith of Greece Arcadia was able to fly in to make a tackle for a safety. Later in the game, Smith was also involved in forcing a fumble recovery for his team. Flipping to the offensive side for Greece Arcadia, QB Deshaun Caesar was able to make the correct reads and throws throughout the game. Getting Caesar on the move, rolling him out of the pocket really helped in buying him some extra time to find his man/receiver. This proved critical when Caesar was able to create a 19-yard pass to a wide-open receiver in the middle of the field. Finally, once again Dashaun McClemmon Dashaun McClemmon 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Greece Arcadia | 2024 State NY was able to shine again with a 19-yard TD run where he was able to deliver a stiff arm on a defender as he burst his way into the end zone.

09/22: Hilton vs Penfield
Another big-time matchup between two competitive teams with Hilton visiting Penfield High School. Early in the game, Hilton faced a 3rd & 6 where QB Colton Thorp Colton Thorp 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Hilton | 2024 State NY was able to find his man wide open deep for a walk in TD. Thorp was also able to make impressive plays on the ground with his legs, including one play where he rushed for a 41-yard gain. On the play, Thorp had a great spin move on a defender in the trenches to break away inside the 10-yard line of Penfield. To put the game away, Thorp also rushed for a 15-yard TD. To no surprised, the impactful force on the ground for Hilton was RB Robert Lowery who ended with 2 TD’s on the day. It was also great to see the versatility that Lowery has when he was able to catch an interception to put the dagger into Penfield on the defense side of the football. Hilton has been on a roll and will look to continue it down the road.
