Continue ReadingIt will not be long until Lewis lands his first college offer as he is a no brainer FCS+ caliber kid and could find his home at defensive tackle/4i-5 tech at the next level as he continues to pack on more weight. He has been one of the most dominant players across the section through the first two weeks of the season and that did not change against Windsor Friday night. He had multiple two-point conversion catches, 5 total tackles and one pick six from his defensive end position. Lewis is a technically sound kid with great strength/power at the POA, heavy hands and is a high motor kid that is only a Junior. He shuts down a whole half of the field in the run game and is a relentless pass rusher as well. Look for this Escalon team to make another state run.
Highlights
Wentworth goes both ways for the Raiders and registered two sacks against a tough Bishop Manogue team from Nevada. He is a big pocket passer with under-rated athletic abilities in the open field and is long and rangy coming off the edge. Another kid that is a no brainer college athlete at either football or baseball, he will continue leading this vaunted Central Catholic defense over the course of the next seven weeks.
DL Toby Black, Rio Americano HS 2024
2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery
Nicolas Navarre, Vista Del Lago HS
17 total tackles
Baron Taylor, Inderkum HS
Continued his 2022 dominance and elite ball skills, picking off another two passes in Inderkums route of Sacramento HS.
Jaron Hodson, Folsom HS
1 FF, 1 FR, 1 Int. Hodson is turning into one of the new up and coming elite Folsom defenders, and should be one of the SFL’s best down the stretch this season.
