Continue ReadingI was on the sidelines to cover the matchup between Rocky Mount and Northeastern. Rocky Mount’s running game kept pounding throughout the game in attempt to match Northeastern’s high powered offensive unit. Northeastern’s defense made a key stop in the final seconds to secure 52 – 46 victory. The players listed caught my attention throughout the game.
Northeastern HS
Trevaris Jones Trevaris Jones 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Northeastern | 2025 NC – QB, 6’2″ 170 (No. 35 QB, Watchlist). Trevaris displayed good arm strength on short and medium range throws. He displayed good ball velocity and accuracy on throws on target to receivers. He was able to gain yardage when he tucked it and ran to avoid being sacked. Trevaris completed 18 of 27 passes for 317 yards and 2 TDs. He completed 67 percent of his passes along with 1 interception for a QB rating of 115.8.
Tyselle Spencer Tyselle Spencer 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Northeastern | 2024 State NC – RB, 5’11” 185 (No. 3 RB, No. 56 Overall). Tyselle followed blockers while looking for an opening to gain yards. He displayed good balance and vision while running inside for yardage. He displayed speed to accelerate past defenders in the open field for big gains. Tyselle had 14 carries for 188 yards and 4 TDs for the game. He plays on both sides of the ball for his team. The recruiting interest should begin to speed up for him.
Dwan Bell – WR, 6’0″ 175. Dwan ran good pass routes and separation from defenders to make catches. He displayed sure hands while making catches in traffic. He finished the game with 5 receptions for 132 yards and 2 TDs. Twan had an impressive performance which should start to generate recruiting interest for him.
Xavier Thomas – OL, 6’3″ 325. Xavier displayed good technique and footwork to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed upper body strength and quickness to drive-block defenders out of the play. He was one of the leaders on the offensive line unit. Xavier is a big and agile offensive lineman who should start to receive recruiting interest from schools.
Joshua Outlaw – OL, 6’1″ 240. Joshua displayed good technique and footwork to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He was quick out of his stance to maintain contact with defenders while drive-blocking them out of the play. He provided a solid base while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
Davonte Barrington – OL, 5’11” 240. Davonte displayed good technique and footwork to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed a solid base while protecting the quarterback on passing plays.
Chandler Powell – OL, 6’2″ 265. Chandler displayed good technique and footwork to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed upper body strength and quickness to drive-block defenders out of the play.
Rocky Mount HS
Isaiah Silver – QB, 5’9″ 160. Isaiah only attempted a few throws throughout the game. He displayed good vision and balance while running inside for yardage. He displayed speed to accelerate past defenders in the open field for big gains, scoring 3 TDs.
Tylik Harrell – RB, 5’8″ 165. Tylik followed blockers while looking for openings to gain yards. He displayed speed to accelerate past defenders in the open field to gain yardage, scoring 1 TD. Tylik plays on both sides of the ball for his team.
Eric Gupton – OL, 6’5″ 225. Eric displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed good quickness and maintained contact with defenders while run blocking.
Micah Majette Micah Majette 6'4" | 200 lbs | DL Rocky Mount | 2026 NC – OL, 6’4″ 200. Micah displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed good quickness and maintained contact with defenders while run blocking.
Hakeem Harrison – OL, 5’11” 295. Hakeem displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He displayed good quickness and maintained contact with defenders while run blocking.
