Jayden Fortier Jayden Fortier 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Tualatin | 2024 State OR TE 24′ Tualatin
As noted, the state’s #1 recruit for 2024 had a monster season opener, catching 5 passes for 120 yards and 3 TDs. Credit to Arizona St for getting on him early. He will be even better in college.
Nolan Keeney Nolan Keeney 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Tualatin | 2025 State OR QB 25′ Tualatin
Expect the 6-4 210-pound dual threat QB to blow up this coming season from a recruiting standpoint. He passed for 5 TDs and rushed for another to start the year, throwing for 320 yards and hitting on 65% of his passes.
Lukas Hews Lukas Hews 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB West Albany | 2024 State OR QB 24′ West Albany
One of the most impressive performances anywhere in the NW came from the 6-5 195-pound QB Hews. The 2nd year starter accounted for all of the teams 6 TDs (3 passing, 3 rushing), hitting on 21-25 passes for 248 yards. The big man can also run carrying 8 times for 105 yards.
Landon Kelsey Landon Kelsey 6'4" | 210 lbs | WR Central Catholic | 2025 State OR WR 25′ Central Catholic & D’Marieon Gates D’Marieon Gates 5'8" | 160 lbs | ATH Central Catholic | 2025 State OR ATH 25′ Central Catholic
The Rams pair of junior transfers helped put an exclamation point on Saturday’s 48-27 win over Washington power Bellevue. The 6-4 3* WR Kelsey, originally from SW Washington, and 1st team all PIL standout Gates, combined to catch 6 passes for 208 yards and 4 TDs. Both are the real deal.
Hudson Hardy Hudson Hardy 6'3" | 220 lbs | ATH West Linn | 2025 State OR RB/OLB 25′ West Linn & Danny Wideman Danny Wideman 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH West Linn | 2025 State OR ATH 25′
The Lions will likely have different standouts each week, with the roster being as loaded as it is. Hardy carried 12 times for 80 yards and a TD with one of the state’s top overall athletes for 2025 Danny Wideman Danny Wideman 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH West Linn | 2025 State OR scoring 2 TDs (1 rush, 1 receiving) and returning a kick 82 yards.
Lamarcus Bell Lamarcus Bell 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Lake Oswego | 2026 State OR RB 26′ Lake Oswego
One of the only sophomores in the NW who has a legit shot of being a 1st or 2nd team all-state athlete this season. Bell carried 17 times for 206 yards and 2 TDs against a better than average Barlow D, in the 40-22 win.
Eli Johnson Eli Johnson 6'4" | 200 lbs | WR South Salem | 2024 State OR WR 24′ South Salem
The 3* recruit has a stock which has been rising quickly since last off season, and he backed that up in week 1. Johnson caught 3 passes for 148 yards and 2 TDs, in the 49-21 win over Liberty, WA.
Luke Baker Luke Baker 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Clackamas | 2025 State OR QB/ATH 25′ Clackamas
Been hollering this kids name for a while, even while being stuck behind POY Cru Newman Cru Newman 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Central Catholic | 2024 State OR at Central Catholic. He made the smart move back to Clack, and proceeded to go off against Westview, rushing 6 times for 107 yards and 3 TDs, in the 28-7 win.
Kameron Rague Kameron Rague 6'1" | 195 lbs | ATH South Medford | 2025 State OR RB/S 25′ South Medford
Get used to hearing Rague’s name. The reigning 3A POY transferred from Cascade Christian, and will project as a 1st or 2nd team all-state athlete on both sides of the football this season. In the opener he carried 14 times for 144 yards and a TD, in the big 42-28 win over Mountainside.
Austin Simmons Austin Simmons 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE West Albany | 2025 State OR TE 25′ West Albany
Another kid who I could see blowing up on the recruiting front. The 6-5 220-pound TE caught 5 passes for 76 yards and a TD, in the 42-12 win over Corvallis. His size and ability to learn from the likes of POY Brysen Kachel Brysen Kachel 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB West Albany | 2024 State OR is big.
Mark Wiepert Mark Wiepert 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Wilsonville | 2025 State OR ATH 25′ Wilsonville & Nick Crowley Nick Crowley 5'11" | 185 lbs | ATH Wilsonville | 2025 State OR ATH 25′ Wilsonville
I have the Oregon St baseball commit Wiepert listed as a favorite for NWOC POY honors on both sides of the ball. On Friday he caught 6 passes for 146 yards and 2 TDs, in the 44-15 win over #4 Thurston. Crowley is very similar projecting as an all-state kid on both sides of the football, while catching 4 passes for 106 yards and a TD.
Lombel Doreen Lombel Doreen 5'7" | 155 lbs | ATH Thurston | 2024 State OR ATH/CB 24′ Thurston
The returning 1st team all-league CB projects as one of the state’s best on offense at the 5A level. He caught 8 passes for 94 yards in the 44-15 loss to #1 Wilsonville.
Kyle Fabella ATH 25′ Forest Grove
The 5-7 120-pound Jr. athlete went off in week 1, recording 5 TDs (3 receiving, 1 rush, 1 kick return) while catching 9 passes for 167 yards, in the 39-22 win over Century.
Athan Palmateer Athan Palmateer 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB South Salem | 2024 State OR QB 24′ South Salem
Palmateer projects as one of the top QB’s in the state for 2024, getting off to a nice start, while accounting for 373 yards and 5 TDs (3 passing, 2 rushing)
Cade Mitchell Cade Mitchell 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Mountainside | 2026 State OR QB 26′ Mountainside
Most people don’t know about him yet, but they will. Mitchell stepped in at QB midway through the game, and passed for 2 TDs while rushing for another, in the 42-28 loss to South Medford. There is still a lot to learn but he will be one of the best in Oregon for 2026.
