Putting up big rushing numbers, scoring multiple touchdowns and leading their teams to early season success are how these ballers have been making headlines. The Metroplex is made up of cities and communities around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In 2022, this area of Texas was on top, as multiple schools from the Metroplex were crowned State Champions. Let’s dive in and spotlight a few leading rushers who have been eating this season.
Guillory Jr. is an explosive runner, who is shifty in space with excellent short area quickness and he runs with power between the tackles. Raycine uses his superb vision to read his blocks well, he shows great patience in the hole to set up his blocks and he has the burst to accelerate past defenders. Guillory Jr. set the tone his freshman year with 1,000 yards rushing and has started off the 2023 season on a tear. Raycine is a power runner who has the long speed to go the distance for six when has has the ball in his hands. Guillory Jr. has been a key contributor offensively for the Aledo Bearcats, who are off to an undefeated start this season. His recruiting forecast has been on fire this month, offers from Baylor, Oregon, Auburn, TCU, Texas State and Houston have come in early on this season. Raycine is having an explosive sophomore campaign and he will be a running back that more colleges will pull up on this season.
Emory is an explosive runner, who has a killer jump cut in his toolbox of moves, his short area quickness combined with his excellent vision enables him to set up his blocks behind his offensive line that springs big plays for the Rockwall offense. Ashten doesn’t let his feet get stuck in the mud, which allows him to change directions quickly with no false steps and his elite short area quickness is a trait that sticks out in his game. Emory shows power to break tackles and his feisty running style makes him a difficult back to bring down when he gets a defender one on one. Through five weeks of play, Emory has rushed for 638 yards with 5 touchdowns, while averaging 8.4 yards a carry. This explosive playmaker has that the skill set that colleges seek out and Bowling Green offered earlier this year and offers from Pittsburg State and Lamar University have come in for this talented ball carrier.
Highlights
Victor is an explosive runner with great vision, he has an elite burst that enables him to separate from defenders at the second level and he can strike from any down or distance with the football in his hands. He is shifty in the open field with the short area quickness to make defenders miss and he has the high knee action that can break arm tackles. Between the tackles Victor runs with great pad level and he shows excellent balance with active feet that enable him to bounce and get north quickly. Victor had a 4 touchdown performance early on this season, showing off the elite burst to blow by defenses and only played the first half of that contest while going over the century mark. Victor has the skill set that college programs covet, Stetson University offered over the summer and Chionuma will be a steal for a program looking for a playmaker at the running back position.

Dean is an explosive runner, who hits the hole like his hair is on fire, he is a one cut and get north quickly type of runner. Deonte has the speed to close the deal for six from any distance on the football field. At 6’0 190 pounds, Dean has a lean build, his is a long strider who is shifty in space and his ability to make the big play from the backfield is a trait that makes him a valuable weapon for Lake Highlands. Deonte was leading the Metroplex in rushing early on this season. Through the first three games this season, Dean rushed for 800 yards and 8 touchdowns. Dean’s 31 carry, 376 yard performance against Highland Park, showed that he has the skill set to be a workhorse for Lake Highlands and he set a single game school rushing record to lift the Wildcats to a big win. Dean has the frame to add healthy bulk and maintain his speed once he gets into a college strength and conditioning program. He visited Iowa and the University of Louisiana in the spring. College programs will be extending offers for his services at the next level as the season progresses.
