Gage comes from a long line of talented brothers. After talking with longtime family friend and Gage’s former 7th grade football coach, and wrestling coach John Kincade, he says growing up the youngest sibling you have to be the toughest. Especially when you are the youngest Hanna.
Gage has more tenacity than your average player on the field. Having watched his brothers work ethic and dedication, it has rubbed off on Gage. His brother Jordan is an extremely hard worker on and off the field, and Gage got to see that. According to coach Kincade, Gage is plenty tough enough and has a tough nature about him on the field.
Off the field, he is a hard worker and treats people with the utmost respect. Even though his brother Jordan is a sophomore who transferred from the University of Arkansas to UNLV, that doesn’t stop Jordan from watching Gage’s games every week and giving him that brotherly advise when needed. Gage’s older brother Morgan, who also played football at the University of Arkansas, is set to graduate this year. He is also available to Gage for advice when needed.
Gage says that growing up the youngest was fun, but you never knew what would happen next. Gage feels that working out with his two older brothers and watching them play has helped him in preparing himself for a college football career. Gage is 6’1″, 205-pounds who bench presses 220-pounds and squats 400-pounds with a 3.5 GPA. His individual goals for this season are to get faster and better on his position play, with a team goal of winning a state championship.
Gage’s strengths are keeping his eyes on the ball at all times and getting to the ball. He shows his leadership by keeping his teammates motivated and encouraged. He feels that what separates him from other linebackers in the state is the physicality that he brings in every game. What Gage loves about playing football is his staying in line, having each other’s back and the love to lay hard hits… and also the team togetherness. Gage has had a strong upbringing, as it shows on and off the field.
I feel that Gage has the talent and motivation to be successful at the next level of his playing career and in life in general.
