St. Peter came into this game 2-1 and was recognized as one of the better 4A teams. Fairmont however was undefeated and believed to be among the top 10 teams in 3A. Fairmont took home a W in a tough 21-0 battle.
RB: Grant Janni Grant Janni 6'0" | 200 lbs | ATH St Peter | 2025 MN 6′ 200 lbs St. Peter 2025
Janni was the Saint’s workhorse tonight and only got better as the game went on. Boasting a robust frame and a willingness to hit defenders, Janni tore it up on the ground, pounding and pounding away at the defense. He would often lower his shoulder and bowl over defenders and showed no issues racking up yards after contact. He’s quick for his big frame, showing off the occasional short jump cut. Keep your eyes out for the St. Peter senior.

ATH: Josh Bosacker 6’1″ 205 lbs St. Peter 2024
Another St. Peter athlete way under the radar, Bosacker showed off his talents as a ball-catcher early and often against the Cardinals. He recorded a nasty head-tap early on and the catches kept coming. The best aspect of his game has to be his ability to track the ball and adjust his route accordingly. There were some tough passes thrown his way that he managed to somehow come down with.
Offers: UW Eau-Claire, St. Olaf, St. Scholastica
OL: Henry Leonard 6’2″ 220 lbs St. Peter 2024
If you asked me to pick a surprise player of the game, it’d be Leonard. He was one of the biggest and most productive linemen for the Saints. Lined up at center, the big man was a part of some nasty double-teams early on, and showed off some good 1v1 run blocking later. He allowed little if any pressure when the QB dropped back to pass as well. Multiple times throughout the game I could see him running defenders down the line of scrimmage.

WR: Levi Pooley Levi Pooley 5'10" | 185 lbs | WR Fairmont | 2024 State MN 5’11” 185 lbs Fairmont 2024
The owner of the catch of the night, Pooley brought in some crazy balls throughout the night. His best catch was a filthy one-legged toe tap in tight coverage. While his speed and route running are both impressive, his body control was his best attribute tonight. He caught everything thrown his way and showed why he’s Geiger’s favorite target.

RB: Elijah Johnson Elijah Johnson 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Fairmont | 2025 State MN 5’9″ 190 lbs Fairmont 2025
Widely recognized as one of the best running backs in the class of 2025, Johnson showed out tonight, especially in the first half. He’s quick and can make tough cuts at the drop of a hat sure, but his ability to break tackles stood out tonight. With his fast feet and thick frame, Johnson was able to run through defender after defender. He could step out of leg tackles and just bounce off higher ones. I think it’s time we see some offers roll in for this young man.

QB: Blaze Geiger 6’1″ 170 lbs Fairmont 2024
To be honest, I had never heard of Geiger before tonight, but his performance left a mark. He showed off his mobility early on, making some key scrambles when the pocket began to break down. He even took some designed runs that threw the defense off. But his ability as a passer is massively underrated. He was very accurate, even while on the run. He made some big back-shoulder throws that kind of made you just stop and stare. Give Geiger his flowers he’s legit.

OL: Jacob Singleton 6’3″ 290 lbs Fairmont 2024
If I had to award lineman of the game, I’d give that trophy to Singleton. The big man did an outstanding job of communicating with his fellow trench dogs, and more often than not was found driving his defender several yards downfield. He’s got a great frame, does a nice job of locking on, and staying low. Singleton has a high ceiling and I’d be surprised if an NSIC offer doesn’t come his way.
Offers: Northwestern College, Dordt, St. Olaf
OL: Oliver Tordsen Oliver Tordsen 6'6" | 230 lbs | DL Fairmont | 2025 MN 6’6″ 210 Fairmont 2025
If you asked me to find the player with arguably the highest ceiling from tonight’s game, I’d suggest Tordsen. He’s a true 6’6″ and although he still needs to fill out his frame, the building blocks for a special tackle are there. Tordsen could play high at times, but when he got under a defender’s pads, he could move them clear out of the play. His pass pro was solid as well. With a strong finish to the season, Tordsen’s stock is only going to rise.
