The defensive players below were around the ball on almost every play, making their presence known. K’mard Kimble | CE King | DL | 2024
Kimble was living in the backfield vs Pearland. The quickness off the ball and ability to swim over the top, maintain his rush lane, and apply pressure was a sight to see. Kimble ,at times, was in position to take the handoff in the backfield. He was dominant in the interior and was consistently causing havoc. Kimble recorded 8 tackles, 5 TFLs, and a sack in a victory.
Keegan Demmer | Tomball | OLB | 2024
Demmer was the contain man who played his fits very well and shot the gaps to make stops for minimal gains. He showed a nose for the ball, locating the ball carrier in a hurry, and getting tackle after tackle. Demmer was very instinctual, trusting his keys and just getting to ball before it hit for big gains. He finished with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery and a big comeback win for the team.
Xavier Atkins Xavier Atkins 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Jonesboro-Hodge | 2024 TX | Summer Creek | LB | 2024
You could not go a play without seeing #6 around the ball, especially in the first half. Atkins was all over the place, flowing to the ball, playing sideline to sideline, and showing his closing speed. He was phenomenal in the open field, a sure tackler not allowing anything to get by, and getting off of blocks to make key defensive stops. Atkins has had a great start to the season and this game is just more to add to the highlight tape. He finished with 13 tackles with 3TFLs and the team got the W.
Dean Ford | Morton Ranch | LB | 2024
Ford at the Mike position defended the run like no other in week 3. He played with physicality, taking on blocks head on and then shedding them to make tackles. Ford was fast downhill, meeting the backs in the backfield, which led to a safety in the game, as well as 3TFLs. Ford only knows one speed and that makes the game easy for him. Ford finished the game with 12 tackles and the team got the dub.
