There were a number of solid games to pick from in week three. I decided to pick five games where both teams own 2-0 records and have undefeated seasons on the line.

Here is a look at a prospect from five big games scheduled for week three in Kansas.

Hays (2-0) @ Manhattan (2-0) – Hays is a run-first team on an early roll and Manhattan still has a target on its back as the defending 6A State Champs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1112377' first='Carter' last='Aslin'], QB, 6'0” 170, Manhattan, ‘25

Taking snaps for Manhattan is junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1112377' first='Carter' last='Aslin']. He is a dual-threat quarterback who is off to a solid start. In the Indians' first two games, Aslin has rushed for 224 yards and thrown for 264. He has rushed for two scores and passed for another. He plays with poise and has a strong arm.

Wichita Northwest (2-0) @ Kapaun Mt. Carmel (2-0) – Two scoring offenses collide in this Wichita area match-up Kapaun is the second-highest scoring team in Class 5A scoring 57.5 points per game. The Grizzlies are second in Class 6A scoring 49.5 points per contest. The big question is what color of Bear shows up for Northwest. Kapaun would be smart to remember the old adage, “If it's brown, lay down. It is black, fight back.”

[player_tooltip player_id='585903' first='Aaron' last='Bohannon Jr.'], RB, 5'6”, 170, Northwest, ‘26

The Grizzlies have a whole den loaded with offensive weapons. Bohannon is a sophomore who shares time in the Grizzlies' backfield. He has rushed for 254 yards and two touchdowns in two games. He is also a threat to catch the ball either from the backfield or lined up in the slot. He has six receptions for 47 yards and one score.

Spring Hill (2-0) @ Eudora (2-0) – Spring Hill and Eudora will duke it out to see who is the early favorite to win the Frontier League title.

[player_tooltip player_id='1044864' first='Cory' last='Kirchner'], WR, 6'3”, 165, Spring Hill, ‘27

I have heard this chant way too often lately in volleyball gyms, but [player_tooltip player_id='1044864' first='Cory' last='Kirchner'] “Is Just A Freshman.” The Class of 2027 wideout has proven to be a tough match-up for opposing defenses in the first two weeks of the season. His size makes him a solid target, but the fact that he has a big vertical makes him all the more dangerous.

Baxter Springs (2-0) @ Parsons (2-0) – Two early unbeaten teams meet in southeast Kansas. The Lions and Vikings both hope to extend their winning streaks to three.

[player_tooltip player_id='259778' first='Tra' last='Mack'], QB, 5'11”, 150, Parsons, ‘24

Mack is a three-year starter for Parsons. He does not have eye-popping stats, but he takes care of the football and runs a methodical offense. Mack has a 67 pass completion percentage in two games and has thrown for 200-plus yards and two touchdowns.

Cheylin (2-0) @ Ashland (2-0) – Early supremacy in 6-man football takes place when No. 1 ranked Ashland hosts No. 2 ranked Cheylin.

Logan McCarty, QB/RB, 5”11, 160, Cheylin, ‘24

Cheylin's senior quarterback has accounted for over 500 yards of total offense in two games. He has thrown for 290 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 233 and scoring twice on the ground.
