Louisiana's high school football season is underway with two great weeks of standout performances already in the books and another three months' worth on the horizon.

Prep Redzone Louisiana has picked five players each area of the state to prioritize catching in person this fall.

The series will limit inclusion of teammates in order to incorporate more teams, and older players receive preference with fewer opportunities left to see them before they wrap up their high school careers.

For the seventh segment of the series, here are the "Catch 5 Live" selections for the Bayou Parishes.

[player_tooltip player_id='421515' first='Kylan' last='Billiot'] | 6-4, 185 WR | Terrebonne (2024)

The Tigers' multisport standout has long been among the top overall athletes in his area of the state. And as he has continued to get stronger, more focused, more consistent and more skilled in his route-running, Billiot has clearly established himself among Louisiana's top receivers, including an LSU offer and commitment this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='145332' first='Jaylon' last='Coleman'] | 5-9, 160 ATH/RB | Vandebilt Catholic (2025)

Another of the area's and state's top athletes, Coleman is an explosive, springy weapon with quickness to shake free from defenders in tight quarters and high-level track speed that makes him a threat to find the end zone any time he touches the ball from the backfield, the slot or in the return game. Oregon, Florida State, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Tulane, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State and a long list of other programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='285197' first='Jay'Shaun' last='Johnson'] | 5-11, 165 DB/ATH | Franklin (2024)

A bit further west, starting to push toward Cajun country, UTSA found another explosive multisport athlete who has seemed largely underrated at a smaller school in between traditional metro coverage areas. But Johnson is a three-phase playmaker when called upon and a consistent threat to put points on the board in a hurry even from his primary role as a defensive back.

[player_tooltip player_id='314043' first='Paxton' last='Lafont'] | 6-4, 200 WR | E.D. White (2024)

The Cardinals, considered among the top contenders in Class 3A again this season, are known for their methodical, ball-control rushing attack. But coach Kyle Lasseigne, offensive coordinator Grant Chiasson and company are finding ways to utilize their big senior receiver, who is showcasing some notably intriguing breakaway speed in the screen game.

[player_tooltip player_id='291085' first='Tyron' last='Winslow'] | 6-5, 265 DL/OL | H.L. Bourgeois (2025)

Lots of pass-catchers and speed demons on this list, but don't overlook some of the bayou's big men — including the Braves' solid all-around group headlined by two-way junior standout Winslow, a strong, hard-working leader with good explosiveness into the backfield who has started to garner some notable college attention.
