These recruits recently made their way onto my radar and impressed me with both their 2022 film and their early 2023 film. They each have differing skill sets but are names to know for the next level. I’m highly interested in seeing what the final product looks like on tape following this fall.
As always, If you have someone you think I need to see, please DM them to me on Twitter at @hsfbscout!
WR: Brady Blackburn, 6′ 165, Aden Bowman Collegiate
This young man is dynamic with the football in his hands and has the vision & change of direction to make something happen in the open field. He’s got the speed to run by squatting defenders, he shows big-play ability as a return man, and has the confidence to go over the middle. He’s a natural hands catcher with smooth body control and can create explosive plays with little help.
RB: Brayden Wolf Brayden Wolf 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Miller | 2025 State CAD 5’11” 170, Miller
This is a hard-nosed, downhill, one-cut runner that pinballs off tackle attempts. Wolf never shies away from contact, he can navigate through slim running windows and has the patience to allow his pullers to set up blocks on gap scheme runs. He has the power to carry tacklers with him and constantly keeps his feet firing through contact.
OL: Tazen Angelstad, 6’4″ 250, Aden Bowman Collegiate
I need to see more tape on Tazen, but the limited film I did see was quite impressive. This kid has size, toughness, strength, flexibility, and movement skills to be a successful offensive lineman at the next level. He’s got long arms, secure hands and can laterally displace a defender in the blink of an eye.
OL: Kyle Mangien, 6′ 280, Miller
Mangien has a nasty streak to him and plays much bigger than his listed height. This kid wants to make you feel his presence on contact and looks to finish blocks through the whistle. He’s got heavy hands, he’s quick to the point of attack, and is a well-trained pass protector who can pass off games to his linemate.
RB: Carter Ashman, 5’9″ 175, Miller
Ashman put up some impressive stats last season, totaling 1,047 yards and seventeen touchdowns. He’s got exceptional burst, plenty of shake to make defenders miss 1 on 1, and is a decisive zone runner who can stick his foot in the dirt and cut a run all the way to the backside. He accelerates through contact and has the speed to get to the edge.
