We are now getting a better understanding of which teams are truly talented, which teams may have had a lucky few weeks, and which teams are looking to improve for next season. I will provide a preview for each week 5 game by conference for the 5A level. Up next is the Mid-Willamette Conference. Each game will have a prediction and highlight some players from each team to watch based on their recent performances.
#4 Mountain View (4-0) @ #10 Caldera (3-1)
Prediction: Mountain View def. Caldera 42-14.
Mountain View is having a fantastic start to the year and is currently ranked among the top teams in the state. They have been able to shut out their opponent in three of their four games, which is quite impressive. This is a significant achievement, and the Mountain View team should be proud of themselves. Caldera, with a record of 3-1, is also performing well and is looking forward to playing the undefeated Cougars on their home turf. However, if Mountain View maintains the same level of play, they should be able to come out on top and win the game.

Ridgeview (1-3) @ #5 Summit (1-3)
Prediction: Summit def. Ridgeview 49-14.
Summit is one of the most talented 1-3 teams in the state. They are similar to 0-4 Jesuit in 6A as they both have had difficult schedules. Ridgeview is a young and upcoming team, but they stand virtually no chance against Summit this week. The Storm have talent all over the board and should finally be able to showcase it against an inferior Ridgeview squad.

#9 Redmond (3-1) @ #12 Bend (2-2)
Prediction: Redmond def. Bend 24-16.
This game is expected to be a close one, as both teams have a similar skill level. Redmond’s defense has been impressive this season, allowing only 10.5 points per game to their opponents. Jace Eveland Jace Eveland 6'7" | 300 lbs | OL Redmond | 2025 State OR is a formidable player who will pose a challenge for the Bend linemen, and this should help Redmond secure a narrow victory against a very capable Bend squad.
