We are now getting a better understanding of which teams are truly talented, which teams may have had a lucky few weeks, and which teams are looking to improve for next season. I will provide a preview for each week four game by conference for the 5A level. Up next is the Northwest Oregon Conference. Each game will have a prediction and highlight some players from each team to watch based on their recent performances.
#2 Summit (1-2) @ #1 Wilsonville (2-1)
Prediction: Wilsonville def. Summit 35-21.
In last week’s games, Wilsonville had a tough battle against Tualatin, who is ranked 4th in the 6A league, while Summit had a rough time in their matchup against Tualatin in week one. Summit was unable to score any points last week in their game against Sherwood, who is ranked 6th in the 6A league. Based on recent performance, it seems that Wilsonville will come out on top as they have been playing better and have a stronger team overall.

#5 Mountain View (3-0) @ Southridge (1-2)
Prediction: Mountain View def. Southridge 49-7.
Mountain View has been performing exceptionally well in the early stages of the season and is expected to continue their strong form this week against a comparatively weaker Southridge team. Although Southridge has some talented players, they are currently in the process of rebuilding their team, which gives Mountain View an opportunity to capitalize on the situation and take an early lead in the game.

#8 Canby (1-2) @ #10 Bend (2-1)
Prediction: Canby def. Bend 30-20.
Canby finally got it together last week, beating (6A) Beaverton 42-7 at home. Tyler Konold Tyler Konold 6'0" | 200 lbs | ATH Canby | 2024 State OR balled out and rushed 14 times for 241 yards with three touchdowns. He is one of the best players in Oregon and I knew a breakout performance like this was coming. Bend also dominated last week with a 42-0 over Putnam. I think Canby’s firepower will prevail in this one, but it should be somewhat of a good game.

(4A) Crook County (1-2) @ Caldera (2-1)
Prediction: Caldera def. Crook County 27-14.
Crook County has a standout player, Eddie Freauff Eddie Freauff 6'4" | 200 lbs | ATH Crook County | 2024 State OR , who is committed to Oregon State, making the team quite interesting to watch. However, as a team, they are not particularly strong. On the other hand, Caldera has a more talented squad and is expected to pull ahead at some point in the game, provided they can effectively contain Freauff. If Caldera can maintain their performance, they should be able to secure a victory, improving their record to 3-1 before their important matchup against Mountain View next week.

Redmond (2-1) @ (6A) Glencoe (1-2)
Prediction: Glencoe def. Redmond 34-13.
Glencoe has shown great skill as a 1-2 team, with their only losses coming against top-ten teams in 6A, Lakeridge and Tigard. This week they face Redmond, who have struggled to score despite having a talented lineman, Jace Eveland Jace Eveland 6'7" | 300 lbs | OL Redmond | 2025 State OR , with D1 size and ability. Glencoe should establish themselves as the superior team in this game early on, and secure a win.

Ridgeview (1-2) @ (4A) #5 Pendleton (2-1)
Prediction: Pendleton def. Ridgeview 30-20.
I have really enjoyed watching Ridgeview’s new quarterback, Adam Millington Adam Millington 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Ridgeview | 2025 State OR . However, it seems like Pendleton, being a top team in 4A, will likely win this match at home. With a dominant offensive line and quick skill players, Pendleton is definitely a tough matchup for the Ravens. Based on these factors, it is likely that Ridgeview will fall to 1-3 at the end of this week after their game against Pendleton.
