Alex Broshears Alex Broshears 5'10" | 200 lbs | LB Evansville Memorial | 2025 State IN – Reitz Memorial – LB – 5’10” 190lbs – 2025
Broshears was on the Week 1 piece, but he’s forced my hand to hit him again. He’s somehow built upon that performance and the performances from years prior. A guy who had over 100 tackles as a junior and lighting it up to start the year, is still getting better. Imagine that, but you don’t have to because that’s a reality here for Broshears. He’s smart, does a great job diagnosing, and wraps up every time. Simple things add up, and that’s where Broshears thrives. Making the right play time and time again goes far, which is what’s allowed him to develop so much over the past 2 years, with another year to go. How do 15 tackles, 2 TFLs, and a pick 6 sound in half a game? Well, that’s what Broshears did on Friday. Some guys just have the ability to light it up, and that’s Broshears to a T.

Wilson Webster Wilson Webster 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Yorktown | 2025 State IN – Yorktown -ATH – 6’0″ 185lbs – 2025
Webster is a 2-way player for Yorktown who is picking up quite a bit of steam, and it’s much deserved. He’s that blue-collar type of player who you won’t see getting too high or too low in the emotions of the game. He’s consistent and has been huge to start the year. He was fantastic against New Palestine this past week and seems to not only be getting better but plays his best ball against stiffer competition. Against 1 of the state’s best programs, Webster had 11 tackles, 2 TFLs, 1 QB hurry, and a pick 6. His pick 6 was fantastic as he read the play like a book and cut underneath and made the play. Yorktown put up a better fight than most people would have anticipated and Webster is a big reason why.

Tyler Maynard Tyler Maynard 6'3" | 230 lbs | DL Fishers | 2026 State IN – Fishers – DL – 6’3″ 225lbs – 2026
Maynard is quickly developing into one of the best linemen in the 2026 class and is making his impact on Friday nights. He’s got an incredible frame for as young as he is and then is explosive with it. He’s fairly strong and does a good job using upper-body strength to win. His arms are long and it gives him room when he extends as well. He’s been as steady as you can ask for someone up front and not only does a good job in the run game but is doing a good job going after the QB. He had his biggest game of the year Friday and this all should be the tip of the iceberg for him. 7 total tackles and then he helped shut down the pocket and collapse it all night long. Maynard is young, has the frame you need, and seems to be wired the right way, so it’ll be about how he develops over the next few years because so far he looks good!

Cal Berryman Cal Berryman 5'10" | 180 lbs | LB Western | 2026 State IN – Western – LB – 5’10” 180lbs – 2026
Berryman may be off to the most impressive start out of anyone on the list, which is why I saved him for last and only doing 4 in this piece. Berryman has been doing the work for 2, if not 3 guys and needs his love. He’s all over the field and it seems like there has yet to be a drive where he hasn’t made a few tackles. He’s 1 step ahead of the offense and does such a great job tracking and coming downhill. I’ve yet to see him miss a tackle, which is probably why he’s got 50 tackles through 3 games. Well, 49 total but with 16 tackles a game through 3 games, he’s been quite consistent. He’s not just getting tackles, but some of those are TFLs. He’s also forced 2 fumbles and then helps carry the ball on offense. Berryman is a do-it-all player for Western who isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so we better get used to seeing him near the top of leaderboards.
