Today on August 18th we officially mark the beginning of our 2023 season here in Alabama. Week 0 is offering a ton of great games with some super-talented prospects we’ve ranked. Today, we’re going to check some of these guys out and welcome back football!
Jordan Ross Jordan Ross 6’5″ | 215 lbs | DL Vestavia Hills | 2024 State AL is one of the top EDGE prospects in the nation and has been a nightmare on the line of scrimmage for Vestavia Hills the last few seasons. Ross stands at 6’5″ and weighs 215 pounds with the ability to be an destructive force as an EDGE. His explosive burst off the line of scrimmage, exceptional speed, and terrific pursuit allows him to chase down ball carriers from sideline to sideline, and consistently bring the down the quarterback as well. Ross is always finding himself in the backfield- where he is able to effect the ball carrier through either tackles for loss, generating pressure, or sacking the quarterback. With his combination of size, burst, speed, and playmaking ability, Ross has the potential to become a dominant force at the next level- which is exactly why he’s received offers from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and more! Kingston Lowe Kingston Lowe 6’1″ | 220 lbs | LB Gulf Shores | 2024 State AL is dynamic force at linebacker for Gulf Shores, where he has showcased his explosive attributes to make significant impacts against both the run and pass. Lowe’s ability to deliver bone-crushing hits not only steers away opposing runners but also sets the tone for his team’s defensive intensity- his teammates absolutely feed off his energy. Lowe can stop the run really well with his excellent instincts and tackling technique where he’s found consistently halting ball carriers in their tracks. In addition to his abilities against the run, Lowe possesses the versatility to excel in pass-rushing situations, using his agility and speed to pressure quarterbacks effectively. Lowe is a really well rounded defensive player for Gulf Shores, and has picked up offers from Middle Tennessee State, UT Martin and more. Standing at 6’1″ and weighing 205 pounds, Burnette possesses the ideal build for his position and plays with a ton of finesse and physicality. Burnette has some explosive speed and exceptional vision that make him a force on the field for defenses to deal with. His ability to read the game and anticipate openings in the defense sets him apart from his peers and when you pair the mental aspects with his combination of size, speed, and agility, Burnette is near impossible to slow down. Burnette received attention from a bunch of top tier schools but committed to Auburn this past summer! Keep an eye on Andalusia tonight as they take on Opp!

Myles Cook Myles Cook 6’5″ | 240 lbs | DL Bob Jones | 2024 State AL is a standout defensive end at Bob Jones that has a really well rounded skill set at his position. Cook has an impressive set of pass-rush moves, and that paired with his great use of hands demonstrates his finesse getting after and by offensive linemen. Cook also has some terrific strength that allows him to overpower blockers and generate immense pressure on quarterbacks- that paired up with his speed adds another dimension to his game that allows him to swiftly navigate the field and close in on both ball carriers and passers as well. Cook also doesn’t shy away from stopping the run- he consistently demonstrates his determination to get after the ball to make plays no matter how the play is progressing on offense.
