On each team we will look at 1 prospect on offense and defense as well as an under the radar player to keep an eye on for the game. These are not the only players to watch but some players to keep an eye on.
Pawlak is an interesting player to watch for in this game as he is a converted QB and will be a duel threat that has a lot of play making ability. He was one of the top backs before converting and showed some flashes after he made the transition. He has the ability to fit the ball into tight windows and can excel in play action intermediate passes. He will be a player to keep an eye on moving forward at the QB position.
Highlights
Luke Christen
Luke Christen
Christen is a player that figures to be thrust into a bigger role and with some experience under his belt he will look to take the role in stride. He is a hybrid type of player that can set the tone off of the edge or be able to drop back into coverage and hold down a zone. He showed some soft hands last season and was able to come away with a couple of interceptions. He will look to get going early and disrupt the offense from the start.
Jake Toshcoff
Jake Toshcoff
Toshcoff is a player that will be looking to climb the ranks this season and should be knocking on the door to 1,000 yard club. He is an elusive back that shows great vision and is able to setup his blocks. When he is able to make it to the second level he has the speed to pull away and bounce it to the outside to pickup extra yardage. He is a explosive player that is hard to bring down and can gash defenses when he turns upfield. He will be a player to add to the radar not only for this game but for the season as well.
Miller is a player that is able to make an impact on both sides of the ball and will be looking to have another breakout season. On the offensive side of the ball he is apart of a two-headed monster that he is the thunder to. He is shifty and can make player miss at times hurdling over them. He has the speed to be able to bounce the ball to the outside and pick up chunk yardage. On defense he is a tone setter coming down and laying a hit on the ball carrier. He is also able to drop back into coverage and pick the ball when he gets his hands on it.
Nicholson plays opposite of one of the top lock down CB and is a pick your poison when is comes to this game. He is lock down himself being one of the top players for interceptions in the state. He has good vision and is able to read the QB to make a break on the ball and create turnovers. At times he is able to anticipate the route and looks like he is running the route for the receiver, getting to the spot before they can. He also has a big impact on the return game which will be a big factor in this game.
Reilly Strain
Reilly Strain
Strain is a DB that figures to play a bigger role this season and shows good anticipation being able to break on the ball taking it the other direction. He shows the ability to read and react at times which helps him come down hill to quickly make a play. He is able to avoid blocks at times and can get to the ball carrier bringing them down for little to no gain. He will be a player to add to the radar for the season to see if he is able to make the jump.
