I will be scouting this league heavily this fall and look forward to watching multiple games involving teams from the nine-team league.
Here is the second of multiple reports to come this fall focusing on prospects from the UKC.
Kyrece Robinson, DE, 6’2”, 250, Topeka West ‘24
Robinson is a physical beast who can take over a game, but he is also extremely versatile. He can play multiple positions including DE, LB, and FB. I saw Robinson at the Emporia State camp in July. He is agile and quick for size. The Chargers coaching staff feels he could play Division I football. He has one college offer, but his play during his senior season might just well determine what kind of opportunities he gets at the next level.
Josh Nitschke Josh Nitschke 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Topeka West | 2024 State KS , WR, 6’1”, 180, Topeka West, ‘24
Nitschke is an under-the-radar prospect from Topeka West. He did not play last season as he transferred from Texas. He is sneaky quick and has great range. He runs solid routes and is not afraid to run across the middle. He has one offer from an NAIA program. He could be the primary target in 2023 for the Chargers.
Jack Bloom, ATH, 6’1”, 200, Seaman, ‘24
Bloom is a fast playmaker. He is a hard-nosed athlete who can play multiple positions. During his junior season, he rushed for 483 yards and had 133 receiving yards. Bloom was tied for the team lead in 2022 with eight total touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he can play outside linebacker or safety. He has a knack for creating turnovers. During the 2022 season, he had one forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two interceptions. He is a solid NAIA and JUCO prospect.
Aiden Atkins, DE, 5’11”, 185, Seaman, ‘24
Atkins definitely has a future as a college defensive lineman. He is quick and mean. The only question is how does his size play. Can he get bigger without getting slower is the key question? He is solid against the run and can pressure the quarterback. He plays with solid pad level and he finishes tackles. Atkins finished with 20 total tackles in 2022.
Jaki Lee Jaki Lee 5'9" | 215 lbs | DL Shawnee Heights | 2024 State KS , DL/OL, 5’8”, 220, Shawnee Heights, ‘24
Le is another versatile fast football player, which seems to be the theme of this group. He has an explosive first step and can move well laterally. He can play as a defensive tackle or a defensive end. I would not hesitate to recruit him for his athleticism and then put him in a position based on need. Lee played in just six games as a junior and will be looking for a bounce-back healthy 2023 season. He is coachable and willing to play anywhere on the field. I’d love to line him up as a fullback and watch him just run over guys.
Alex Dittman, LB 6’1”, 190, Shawnee Heights, ‘24
Dittman is a difference-maker at linebacker. He can play either middle or outside linebacker and is solid in coverage. He is fast and has been clocked at a 4.9 second forty. He has good lateral movement and can pressure the quarterback. Dittman led the Thunderbirds with 60 total tackles during his junior season. Four of those tackles created a loss of yardage.
