After watching the film, I’m excited to watch it play out and have found 4 defensive lineman worth keeping an eye on for this upcoming season.
Jacob Rice Jacob Rice 6’3″ | 250 lbs | DL Knox. Catholic | 2026 State TN is a dominant player at the point of attack at 6-foot-3, 245 pounds out of Knoxville Catholic High School. He is very good on both sides of the ball in the trenches. Very good leverage, he shows good burst off the ball and creates disruption with his power and hand usage. Rice displays good footwork and athleticism to get into a solid position tied with powerful hands. Good laterally, he understands his run fit and gets control of his gap with a combination of athleticism, technique, and play strength.

Charles Sullins Charles Sullins 6’2″ | 230 lbs | DL Southwind | 2026 State TN is a powerful force upon the defensive line at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds out of Southwind High School. He showcases very good power at the point of attack and is a bully versus offensive lineman. High and active motor, he plays with great competitive and physical toughness. Great against the run, Sullins shows solid processing of run concepts with good explosiveness to create disruption. His speed to power stands out which he uses to collapse the pocket. Sullins shows good hands to stack and shed with nice hip torque.
David Mullins David Mullins 6’3″ | 205 lbs | DL Blackman | 2026 TN is a versatile edge that can play some interior defensive lineman at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds out of Blackman High School. He wins from the edge using power and technique with great athletic ability to beat interior offensive linemen when aligned in the interior. Good run defender, he shows a good understanding of his gap responsibility with good quickness to avoid blocks. Great length, Speirs displays good burst when pass rushing with great slipperiness to avoid hands with solid shoulder dips.
Caleb Lauderdale Caleb Lauderdale 6’0″ | 220 lbs | DL Whitehaven | 2026 TN is a good defensive lineman vs the run and the pass at 6-foot tall, 220 pounds out of Whitehaven High School. Good burst and speed at his size with a solid motor to chase plays down the line of scrimmage. Quality hand usage, Lauderdale ties his feet with his hands to get control at the point of attack. Good pad level and leverage, he creates disruption in the backfield with power.
