Williams is a big time playmaker, who is gifted athletically, he has a stout, lean frame with an extended reach that gives him an advantage no matter where he lines up on the football field. Jonah has superb footwork as a defensive back, he transitions into his backpedal smoothly, he has flexible hips that enable him to turn, plant, break on the ball and explode covering ground in a hurry from his safety position. Williams is an excellent open field tackler, he uses great technique in pursuit while playing under control and he closes on ball carriers with violent intentions. Jonah and the Galveston Ball defense were stingy in 2022, going undefeated in the regular season, only allowing 31 points in 11 games and Jonah was in the mix all season, posting 53 tackles with 4 interceptions on the year. Williams was voted the District 9-5A Division I MVP, because of his stellar play in 2022. Jonah’s stock on the recruiting trail has taken off like a rocket, as the top collegiate programs from around the country have come to South Texas to seek out one the top players in the Class of 2025 regardless of position. Williams’s electrifying talent has caught the attention of schools from coast to coast, including Arizona, Arkansas, LSU, Ohio State and Baylor, just to name a few. Williams narrowed his list down to 12 earlier this summer.
