This week, Prep Redzone Scout Drew Johnson will highlight some instrumental recruits that have consistently produced and seen an uptick in their recent recruitments. As noted frequently, Prep Redzone Florida aims to provide adequate coverage of all athletes for college coaches At All Levels and readers to evaluate. Let’s get into some of the stats, Hudl films, and recent offers from some of the rising recruits in the state of Florida.
Alex Thelusma Alex Thelusma 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Fort Myers | 2024 FL | ATH | Class of 2024 | Ft. Myers | @thelusma_alex
Thelusma is a real deal slept on wide receiver product that has a college-ready frame and production level. He recorded 24 receptions for 358 receiving yards and 3 TDs last season for the Green Wave but you can expect even more production for his senior season. A two-sport athlete that has good athleticism and skills for the next level.
Brady Messick Brady Messick 6'0" | 225 lbs | ATH Palm Harbor University | 2025 FL | ATH | Class of 2025 | Palm Harbor University | @BradyMessick
Messick finished fourth on the team in total tackles with 36.0 and 4.0 tackles for loss to add. The sack column is where Messick is able to dominate, as he has good hands and an explosive first step. He racked up 7.0 sacks last season, good enough for first on the team.
Still has plenty of time to add weight to his frame and work on the technique to be a productive hybrid linebacker product at the next level.
*Weightlifter and Wrestling
Battle Alberson | QB | Class of 2024 | Gulf Breeze | @BattleAlberson3
The Gulf Breeze rising senior quarterback has generated some interest around his recruitment this season. Partly due to his good frame at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds but also because of his good footwork mechanics, ball placement, and decent arm strength.
–Finished junior season with nearly 1700 passing yards with 17 passing TDs to add. Also contributed 3 rushing TDs.
*Competed with C3 Elite National 7 on 7 squad during the off-season.
Isaac Hungerbuhler | DE / OLB | Class of 2025 | Viera | @IHungerbuhler10
One of the under-the-radar EDGE / linebacker products in the area. Hungerbuhler has good length with a 6-foot-2 height that he used to lead Viera in sacks last season with 5.0 total. Still has plenty of time to add weight to his frame but does seem to possess the right work ethic and mentality to progress.
