You see the closing speed to the quarterback or ball carrier flash. College coaches will likely explore and get experimental, especially since the kid moves as well as he does already. TE could be an option, I'm not sure if he has the experience needed to play tackle at this level or next. Guard possible but he's almost touching 6'6. A good problem to have. A between-the-tackles winner. Phenomenal leg power and press off the snap makes him an immediate nightmare for offensive linemen who struggle with power. Has a fumble recovery on tape that shows off how well he moves, not often you see that from a 255-pound kid. Some advanced traits shown on tape, swiping of hands, ability to split double teams using leverage, someone is coaching this kid up well. Active limbs, I'd bet his wingspan is desirable. Might be a top 100 prospect, there's attention to detail, there's a repertoire under his belt. There's some edge-setting capabilities against the run which is always a plus. Might be a bit raw from a pass-rushing perspective, yet if he has multiple roles around the program it makes sense for him not to be refined in one specific area. He closes to the football well and finishes with authority. Can be counted on to chase down the LOS and clean up plays. A minute into the tape you see him drop into coverage at LB and make things difficult for would-be pass-catchers. Nimble enough to play at MLB. Has some interceptions to his name. A phenomenal all-around football player who I'd love to see in person. What's more interesting is his length in terms of limbs/wingspan. You can bet the kid has numerous passes deflected at the LOS. That's a given. It's when he's rushing the passer with his hand off the dirt where his serious length begins to rear its head. The kid separates by stabbing off the LOS, tackles have a hard time getting their hands in on his chest plate. Couple this with easy speed off the edge and a solid get-off, the kid's sacks look effortless. I'm out of the loop in terms of production, future role, what his basketball skills are like, yet this three-minute tape has done enough for me to give college coaches a holler. Lumbering might not be the best adjective, some reps on tape you can see the giant get some second-level blocks in. Not necessarily the most violent of prospects, yet you can't help but be intrigued by his size alone. Formidable and respectable pass-pro sets are displayed. His opponents didn't exactly match up with his power and size. Would love to see if the kid could hold up with prominent EDGE defenders in the area. One, the young man has a knack for coming away with difficult catches, ones that demand good hand-eye coordination and a catch radius that extends above his head. Two, this kid's gait/stride off the LOS can eat up cushion in a hurry. Maybe DBs aren't expecting him to fly down the field with such ease? He's often taking the top off defenses within three-four seconds of the snap. Outside-the-numbers alignment. Often has to come back for balls that would otherwise be easy touchdowns. There's a solid range of route combos he's involved in. I see him run some comebacks, I see him runs drags across the middle. Wells' tape shows off his willingness to block as well which is always a plus. Most of the tape has him aligning in a two-high look. Is a heat-seeker when attempting to bring down the ball carrier. The kid has a corner/safety build, he's got a light frame, yet hits like he's 200+ pounds. Good effort, high motor from a backend safety should always make coaches happy. Understands route concepts that develop underneath him, breaks on drags, and crossers well. Can stifle big TEs as he himself is physical. Would love to see how he plays when tested vertically. I don't have much tape to dissect, as there are some IMG DT reps on Hudl from 2021. Either way, the kid is one hell of a talent who would likely rank high had I had the chance to correct my mistake. Violent down-blocker who seeks out his assignment relatively well. [player_tooltip player_id='1077155' first='Jamir' last='Webb'] has pass-pro under his belt, as where Brown doesn't have much to display on tape. Again, the system doesn't call for Brown to consistently kick-slide into the backfield to protect the quarterback.
