Going 12-2 in 2022, Woodbury dominated the majority of opponents last season and capped the season with a 31-7 win over Mountain Lakes in the finals. Woodbury is returning their leading rusher and leading edge rusher from this past season. There are big shoes to fill at the QB position, but luckily the new QB will be surrounded by a host of talent. This team is bringing back a lot of experience on both sides of the ball and has a legit shot at repeating this season.

Woodbury is returning an elite running back in Anthony Reagan Anthony Reagan 5’7″ | 175 lbs | ATH Woodbury | 2024 State NJ Jr. An overall insane athlete, Anthony is built like a machine with a low center of gravity, making it very difficult to get him to the ground. Anthony is much faster than you would anticipate and has the ability to go 80 yards downfield untouched. Anthony is one of my favorite returning RBs in the state of NJ. He ran for 1,144 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2022, and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he topped the 20 touchdown mark. With the ability to make defenders whiff on tackles easily and often, Anthony will continue his career at Howard in 2024.
Ibn Muhammad Ibn Muhammad 6’0″ | 165 lbs | WR Woodbury | 2026 State NJ is a player on the verge of gaining national recognition. As a freshman for Woodbury, Ibn was able to rack up 276 yards, but more impressively, was able to find the end zone 6 times. Ibn has a lot of upside and is sure to add more yardage in 2023. He is a fluid route runner and is able to get the corner twisted up as he breaks in his route. Ibn is about to make his presence known this season, so be on the look out for what he does this fall.
Jayden Johnson Jayden Johnson 5'10" | WR Brick | 2025 NJ
Jayden Johnson Jayden Johnson 5'10" | WR Brick | 2025 NJ
Jayden Johnson Jayden Johnson 5’10” | WR Brick | 2025 NJ is the second WR from Woodbury on this list returning for another season of success. Compiling 746 yards and 3 tds last fall, Jayden was a big bodied target that made it easy on his QB to complete the pass downfield. Often when the play broke down Jayden had the awareness to find open space and give his QB an opportunity to make a play.
Jayden has the combination of strong hands and a strong body, making it very challenging to get him to the ground once the ball is in his grips. I foresee Jayden playing an even bigger role in the red zone in 2023 as he is an easy target to throw the jump ball to near the pylon. Woodbury is returning a scary offensive unit that will be firing on all cylinders.
A 2025 DE/OLB, Jasuan Solomon Jasuan Solomon 6’0″ | 225 lbs | DL Woodbury | 2025 State NJ is a player that has already made his presence known on the field. With 76 total tackles on the season, Jasuan pursued the runners relentlessly and wouldn’t stop until the whistle was blown. Jasuan has insane speed off of the edge. He has a reputation for terrorizing QBs, never giving them the chance to get their feet set, let alone even think about looking downfield. For a player with 14 sacks as a sophomore, I am very surprised Jasuan isn’t getting the collegiate recognition that I would expect. Jasuan is an all around force to be reckoned with, and colleges need to send him offers before it’s too late.
Marquis Taylor
Marquis Taylor
Marquis Taylor is a player that is going to shine on both sides of the ball in 2023. Making a name for himself on the defensive side of the ball in 2022, Marquis was able to snag the ball out of the air 3 times last season and was able to break up countless passes. As a cornerback, Marquis was able to anticipate routes and jump the ball for the interception. He is a form tackler that gets in position to get the runner to the ground. He does his job and doesn’t get phased by fancy footwork. Marquis will also be playing a larger role on offense this season. He can make catches at their highest point, and burn by defensive backs as well. Woodbury has a true triple threat at the wide receiver position that will be scary to go up against.
