Who are they? Let’s take a look…
Elijah Griffin Elijah Griffin 6'5" | 270 lbs | DL Savannah Christian | 2025 State GA – DL – Savannah Christian
A true game-changing defensive lineman with strength, power, quickness, and athleticism, Griffin is a dominant defender who can stop the run and go get the quarterback. Ranked as the No. 1 prospect in the state, the big 6-foot-5 285-pounder is an easy 5-star prospect in the 2025 class and coming off a dominant sophomore season where he made 82 tackles, 30 TFLs, and 14.5 sacks. A truly elite prospect, Griffin already has an eye-opening offer list, and today he earned a new one from the USC Trojans. He does everything at a high level and was unblockable at times this year. He has unlimited potential and has a chance to push for the No. 1 prospect in the country.
Thomas Blackshear Thomas Blackshear 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Benedictine | 2025 State GA – WR – Calvary Day
One of the top overall playmakers in Savannah, Blackshear is a 2022 state-champion as he played for Benedictine last year, but this year he’ll be playing at Calvary Day. A promising receiver who should see his recruitment rise more and more, the 6-foot-2 190-pounder caught 41 passes last season for 641 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was a dependable option in the passing game all year long and shows the ability to stretch the field vertically while also being a threat in the screen and short passing game. His versatility, length, and playmaking ability down the field has allowed him to reel in a load of offers in the off-season, and he earned another this week from the Florida Gators.
Walter Mathis Walter Mathis 6'2" | 235 lbs | DL Calvary Day | 2025 GA JR. – DL – Calvary Day
One of the top overall defenders in Savannah, Mathis JR saw his recruitment take off this summer, adding offers from Clemson, Auburn, Duke, among others. A powerful but quick interior defensive lineman at 6-foot-2 270-pounds, Mathis Jr. is coming off a tremendous sophomore season where he made 48 tackles, 19.5 TFLs, and 4.5 sacks. He’s lightning quick off the snap and lived in the backfield all season long. He shed blocks, creates penetration, and commands a double-team at times. His stock is rising, and his play will only improve with two more years of high school left. He’s turned into a big-time prospect, and he earned a new offer this week from the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Logan Brooking Logan Brooking 6'4" | 220 lbs | LB Savannah Christian | 2025 State GA – LB/TE – Savannah Christian
A versatile defender who plays with a mean streak, Brooking is a big-time defender who knows how to deliver a hit. A physical-looking defender for his age with an SEC-caliber frame at 6-foot-4 215-pounds, Brooking has reeled in a new SEC offer this week from the Texas A&M Aggies. He lived in the backfield last season, making 66 total tackles with 15 of them coming behind the line of scrimmage. He also added 12 sacks and forced one fumble. One of the top defenders not only in the Savannah area, but across South Georgia, Brooking is ranked as the No. 50 overall prospect in Georgia and now holds offers from Texas A&M, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, among others.
