There are many players who have already worked their way onto college radars, with some heading into their junior season with scholarship offers. The five players listed below are talented defensive linemen and linebackers with high stock values as potential prospects.
Keegan Perea Keegan Perea 6'2" | 235 lbs | DL Cherry Creek | 2025 State CO | Cherry Creek | 6’3”, 245lbs | DE
Perea is a powerful defensive end destined to play at the next level. He has excellent size and power, allowing him to stuff running lanes and force offensive linemen back into the pocket to disrupt the quarterback’s rhythm. His ability to get off the block while continuing to work toward the ball carrier is outstanding. Perea is coming off a championship sophomore year and is heading into a potential breakout junior season this fall.
Kafui Fiadonu | D’Evelyn | 6’3”, 250lbs | DT
Fiadonu is a big-time player with an imposing size and formidable power. He has a ton of raw talent that mixes perfectly with his explosive first step, giving him the potential to emerge as a sought-after prospect with an elite ceiling. Fiadonu earned his first offer from CSU-Pueblo early in his high school career, an offer that is sure to be the first of many as he embarks on a highly anticipated junior campaign.
Tucker Johnson Tucker Johnson 6'3" | 230 lbs | DL Delta | 2024 State CO | Delta | 6’3”, 240lbs | DE/DT
Johnson is a prospect who has been turning heads and gaining significant recognition as a potential recruit this year. He has excellent size and athleticism that make him a spotlight stealer whenever he is on the field. His quick first step, fast hands, and explosiveness when changing directions make him a force on the defensive front. Johnson’s overall talent and versatility put him in a category as a top recruit for teams looking to add speed and power to the edge or interior of their defensive line, making him a name to circle.
Izaya Hawkins | Pomona | 6’0”, 190lbs | DE/LB
Hawkins is perhaps one of the more unknown players on this list, but his potential makes him a legitimate sleeper. He is a powerful athlete who brings a disruptive playing style to the edge of the defensive front. His ability to quickly make his way into the backfield will put him in a position to rack up a significant number of tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Hawkins is a low-flyer on the prospect radar but is poised to have a breakout junior season this fall.
Canyon Brede | Wellington | 5’10”, 220lbs | LB/DL
Wellington is entering its second season, adding the 2027 class to a roster filled with legitimate talent. Brede is a plug-and-play defender with stud potential. He has explosive speed and can change directions quickly, which helps him play well in pass coverage. Being at a smaller and newer school means some players are tasked with playing multiple positions, putting him in a situation where he gets tagged as a linebacker, defensive lineman, and full back. Brede’s outstanding size and formidable power make him a problematic defender for offenses and a prime prospect for college scouts.
