It is the class of 2027 official birthday of the New England Prep Redzone platform. What this means, it is now officially time for us to begin exposing the talent within the New England class of 2027. Our middle school Prep Redzone Next National Scout Director Al Pops has given us a head start with the names of these top prospects within this class.
In this report, I will highlight a few WR names that have already caught my attention and confirmed through summer camps and also a quick film analysis that was given to me for review. A majority of these prospects have not played a down of Varsity football yet, but are highly projected to compete to take the field this fall and will also likely be top recruits to be ranked with us within their class moving forward. This will be a continued series with several parts being rolled out moving forward during pre-season 2023.

He already has the size to play WR at the varsity level. It will likely come down to the level of mental toughness he brings with his skill set that determines playing time for him at the varsity level in 2023. He has good athletic potential. Has reliable hands. He executes fluid movement patterns when running with the football. Can change direction instantly. Speed and overall quickness are not seen in any clips provided. Something I will be looking for moving forward.

He is aggressive. Seen as a WR who can be an effective blocker out on the perimeter. He knows where the ball is when it’s in the air and will go up to get it. On defense, he gives consistent effort and shows the willingness to be physical. Likes and looks to be involved in every play. Has an older brother Jake Holschlag that also attended Milton Academy and played QB for the Mustangs team and is now at Georgetown Univ.
Will easily make our class of 2027 rankings when it is released in January 2024.

Hall is a rising talent with good length in his frame especially in his arms. He can execute a strong and effective stiff arm on defenders attempting to tackle him. He is an effective route runner who can find the open alleys in zone coverages. Plays the edge on defense with good range. Appears disciplined enough to fight and keep the edge while stringing out the play to the sideline.

“Perry” is a effective ball carrier. No matter if he’s taking the handoff or making a catch in the field of play. Once he has the ball in his hands, he is determined to make it into the end zone. He can run between the tackles and has a good lean along with a strong lower body to carry the pile. Athleticism pops on film and can easily translate to the field of play. Plays aggressive and physical with a desire to make a play each rep. Will easily make our class of 2027 rankings when it is released in January 2024.

Dorchester, MA / Roxbury Latin C/O 2027
National Middle School Scout Director Al Pops Notes: March 2023 –rn– Earned a spot on the PRZ Next National Watchlist with his performance at the camp this past weekend
– A long, lean Wide Receiver/Defensive Back prospect. Can best describe him as wiry, because while he is on the thinner side, it’s obvious there’s a good amount of strength in that frame
– Older brother Tony was an All-New England selection at Buckingham Browne & Nichols in 2016-2017, before a stop at The University of New Hampshire and is now at FCS Stonehill College.
May 2023 – In the intro I mentioned the tough weather, LaMonica and others made the trip down from Massachusetts and certainly made the trip worth it. I got a look at LaMonica this past March and again this past weekend. Both times I liked what I saw out of the 5-foot-11 and 145-pounder. Not the fastest or most polished, but was consistently good. He’ll be at Roxbury Latin next year.
My Scout Analysis – He has quick feet and loose hips. Appears very wirey and lean with good athletic ability. Could become a top player in New England by senior season if he continues to develop with additional body weight and height.
