The summer is a time for athletes to master the heat in Texas while mastering their own levels of resilience and perseverance. Let’s take a quick look at some of the players with rising stock in their recruitment buzz from District 13-6A.
Jalen Mayon I 2025 I 5’9 160 I WR I Conroe HS I Conroe, Texas
Jalen Mayon is a nifty slot receiver for Conroe High School who is transferring over from the Legacy Academy in Spring, Texas. He is a playmaker in every sense of the word that dominated the 7v7 circuit with precise route running partnered with experienced hands that snatch the ball out of the air. Mayon will be a hiccup of a target for QB1 Christian Nunley Christian Nunley 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Conroe | 2025 State TX (Also a rising 25′) heading into the 2023-24 season due to his ability to produce YAK on a continuum in the spread concept. In such a power-packed district of stars like District 13-6A, Jalen Mayon projects to star in the slot receiver role amongst other things under the command of head coach Cedric Hardeman and offensive savant Rhett Bomar’s offense. Look for Mayon to burst onto the scene as a mainstay go-to target for the Tigers in the departure of all-state receivers Louis Williams III and Cameron Thomas seamlessly and with extreme prejudice.
Mason Isbell Mason Isbell 6'2" | 255 lbs | OL Willis | 2025 TX I 2025 I 6’2 255 I ATH/Interior I Willis, Texas
Mason “BULL” Isbell is a powerful do it all trench master who goes about his business in a brutal blue-collar fashion! At this point in his recruiting process scouts and recruiters alike are trying to see what he can do at all of the positions he mans and is projected to be featured in. The BULL, standing at a stout 6’2 255, will be playing offensive and defensive line during the season to show his range and athletic versatility to maneuver from a space-eating kick slide to a defensive bullrush on the opposite side of the line of scrimmage. Trust me when I say that he is just as powerful moving backward as forward! This offseason he has demonstrated outstanding coachability and flexibility within the Wildkat scheme on both sides of the ball by performing with a relentless motor within the confines of packages established by a creative staff led by second-year head man Trent Miller. Additionally, Isbell served as a cog for the newly crowned state champion offensive lineman challenge competition (Willis Wildkats). Mason “Bull” Isbell is going to be a load this fall for any opposition due to his intangibles partner with his unique ability to process both sides of the ball. This is why he is listed as an athlete that projects as a speed interiors rusher on defense long-term while moonlighting as a swing tackle and guard. Look for his recruitment to heat up quickly as his junior campaign progresses.
Quanell X Jr.I 2025 I 6’2 180 I ATH I The Woodlands HS I The Woodlands, Texas
Quanell X. Jr is primed to have a huge junior season campaign in 2023. The dual threat playmaker on both offense and defense is coming off an all-state sophomore season on special teams as a return specialist. X has been recently promoted to a 4 star at the receiver position but is more appropriately labeled as an athlete. Look for the battletested X to once again prove his worth in a star-studded district (District 13 6A) this fall against several division 1 athletes roaming the secondaries!
Ty Rupe Ty Rupe 6'7" | 245 lbs | TE Conroe Grand Oaks | 2025 State TX I 2025 I 6’6.5 232 I TE I Grand Oaks HSI Oak Ridge, Texas
Ty Rupe Ty Rupe 6'7" | 245 lbs | TE Conroe Grand Oaks | 2025 State TX is a tower of a receiving threat at 6’6 1/2. He came out of his sophomore season holding major offers from several Group of 5 and Power 5 institutions. Rupe has focused on adding weight to his long frame and quickening his agility under the personal training of Rashad “The Footwork King” this offseason. Rupe is a name to watch for as he is a hot topic amongst college recruiting ranks.
