Vernale is a very active defender inside or out on the edge, and seems comfortable in space or taking on double teams/drive blocks inside with violent hands and good leverage at the POA. He has been one of the more dominant players on the defensive side of the ball across the CCS for two seasons, and is poised for a monster Senior season for a very solid Los Gatos squad in 2023. Entering our WL rankings, he is one to watch crack our rankings in the next update, and is a college caliber kid at the D-III+ level.
Connor is a very twitchy pass rusher that had a nice off-season at multiple stops, and showed his twitch and pass rush abilities against solid talent. He is a high motor kid that wins with first step quickness/bend off the edge and has a variety of pass rush moves at his disposal while able to close fast and tackle in the open field/takes good angles to ball carriers. He also shows pass rush lane discipline, block recognition, and can blow up pullers when needed while very physical near the LOS.
Adams checks in as one of the better defensive lineman across California, and is a massive framed kid with good size, length and a heavy use of hands at the POA. He is a striker that controls blockers with his hands and length, can violently get off blocks and can eat double teams while also providing a interior rush when needed. Idaho and Morgan State have offered the 3-star prospect, and he is in line for a huge Senior season and is one of the more dominating defensive tackles the region has to offer in the ’24 class. Look for other FCS+ schools to offer Adams as the season progresses.
Miller is a very disruptive interior pass rusher that is also stout against the run, and wins with good pad level, strike, chest control and leg drive off the ball to create immediate knock-back. He moves well for his size, shows some COD abilities and can win one on one matchups in pass rush situations with active hands hips and violent counter moves. He is rated as a three-star prospect across multiple platforms, and holds offers from Stony Brook, and Montana State. Look for Miller to be a big part of this loaded Mission Viejo front seven in 2023.
