2024 Linebackers That Impressed Me on Tape

Some of these guys are already ranked on our site, while others are new names that recently came to our attention. They've got a wide variety of skills and are still developing as prospects. This season will be paramount for their recruitment moving forward. I'm anxious to see what the 2023 film shows and see how much they've improved from their junior campaigns. He's got a chiseled upper body &amp; the play strength to go with it. He pinballs off blocks on the interior and looks to engulf a ball carrier when he gets his hands on them. He's got to work on his flexibility and pad level, but there are a ton of raw traits you can work with and further develop. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='887078' first='Jesse' last='Groot'] 5'11" 195</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Groot is a bit undersized but makes up for it with his quickness, aggression, and football instincts. He's got outstanding closing speed once the ball is handed off and can come to balance &amp; make plays in space. He's got natural read &amp; react skills, he's comfortable filling gaps within the box and has a motor that's always gassed up. This young man plays fearless and is always on the go.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='894857' first='Liam' last='LaBelle'] 6'3" 205</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A sudden inside linebacker prospect with ball skills, zone coverage fluidity, and tremendous hustle. Liam is a talented pass rusher who can discombobulate slide protection schemes. He's got a long frame he can fill out over the next few years, impressive speed, and plays with an excellent mixture of patience &amp; hostility. Not to mention, he's also an effective long-snapper on special teams as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='866814' first='Gabriel' last='Andre'] 6'1" 220</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gabriel is a pass-rushing savant with a terrific get-off, good bend, violent hands, and will scratch &amp; claw to detach from blocks on the inside. He's got quality instincts in zone coverage, hits like a ton of bricks, and is a special teams ace. He's under control when tackling in the open, he can sift through traffic to get to a ball carrier and always seems to be around the football. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
