I wanted to take some time this week to shine some light on some under the radar running backs in the class of 2024. I know these guys have put in the work this summer and in a few days they get to showcase that on the field.
Peace Bumba Peace Bumba 6’1″ | 200 lbs | ATH St. Thomas More – Champaign, IL | 2024 State IL does it all for Saint Thomas More. Not only is he a great all around back, he is also a big part of the defense. Last season he has 146 tackles and 2 sacks on the defensive side of the ball. However, offensively is were Bumba makes the biggest impact. As a junior he has 22 total touchdowns and 1620 all purpose yards. He is an explosive running back that makes it difficult for defenders to bring him down in the open field. The thing that separates Bumba is his ability to be split out wide as a receiver and be weapon in the passing game as well. Jedidiah Adjayi Jedidiah Adjayi 5’7″ | 160 lbs | RB Evergreen Park | 2024 IL is a shifty running back. Once he gets to the second and third level he can be hard for defenders to get a hit on him. Adjayi does a great job finding a seam and hitting it full speed. He can break the big one at anytime once he gets into the open field. He has been active this summer going to camps and training. He most recently picked up and offer from Roosevelt University.

AJ Moore
AJ Moore will be starting for a new team this fall. He is making the move from Rockford Lutheran were he had 10 touchdowns as a junior to Rockford Auburn. Adding another weapon like Moore should make the Knights even more explosive this year. Moore looks good in a zone run game style offense that he played in last year. He has good vision and can stick his foot in the ground to get vertical when he sees day light. He also versatile with the ability to play slot receiver as well.
At 6’2 215 Walker Owens Walker Owens 6’2″ | 200 lbs | RB Wheaton North | 2024 IL is load at the running back position. His junior season he had 749 yards on 114 carries. He was also a force on defense starting at defensive registering 7.5 sacks. He is a down hill running back that is always fighting for extra yards and falling forward. Owens takes pride in running hard making multiple defenders to take him down.

Aidan Preciado
Don’t let the height fool you, Aidan Preciado is an explosive back. He has elite quickness and speed to pull away from defenders. The thing that stands out most on film is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He runs great routes and is able to stress a defense in multiple ways. He usually leaves defenders grasping at air when he gets out in space.
