Oregon high school football is in a fantastic place, and I could not be more excited to help educate our readers on the programs they will be watching on Friday nights. The team next up is Redmond High School, home of the Panthers.
The Panthers are led by Coach Brent Wasche, who was the head coach back in 2018 and came back before the 2021 season. Coach Wasche and the Panthers finished the 2022 season with a 2-7 record, missing out on the playoffs. The Panthers will look to improve on their poor record from a season ago, and Coach Wasche believes they will.
When asked about the Panther’s goals and expectations for the season, Coach Wasche said, “I’m extremely excited about of teams this season. We have a fairly large seniors class and are returning at least eight on Both sides of the ball.” Coach Wasche continued, finished with the ultimate goal for the year, “We fully expect this team to be playing in November and in the mix to compete for a league title,” he said.
Here is a list of All-League players that have departed the program:
- RB Kyle Littlejohn (Honorable Mention)
- WR Nathan Wachs (Honorable Mention)
- LB Chad Spitz (Honorable Mention)
- DB Caleb Dickerson (Honorable Mention)
- P Dakota Wedding (Honorable Mention)
With the hope of reaching the 5A state playoffs, I asked Coach Wasche for some of his guys who he expects to help the Panthers reach the playoffs. Here are the guys Coach Wasche named as his top players:
The first player to mention is Jace, a big lineman who has transferred into the Panthers program from Putnam High School. Jace is a massive kid who has been an impressive player for the Kingsmen in his first two years of high school. Expect Jace to be one of the best linemen in the state, especially if he can add agility to his already impressive frame.
Colton Horner

The Panthers will be returning their quarterback from last season, which will be helpful in terms of continuity. Even though the Panthers finished with a 2-7 record last season, expect Colton to lead them to new heights this season as they have a lot of returning talent, along with the addition of Jace Eveland Jace Eveland 6’7″ | 300 lbs | OL Redmond | 2025 State OR to protect him.
Ashton Fields

The defense will be led by the following two guys mentioned. Up first is Ashton, who plays defensive and offensive line for the Panthers. He will benefit from the addition of Jace Eveland Jace Eveland 6’7″ | 300 lbs | OL Redmond | 2025 State OR , as he will be more free to showcase his skill, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
The last player Coach Wasche mentioned was Isaac. He will play defensive end/outside linebacker for the Panthers, a hybrid role. He will look to showcase his athleticism off the edge, while Jace and Ashton will most likely be working on the inside of the defensive line. Expect both Isaac and Ashton to step up if the Panthers want to do well this season.
The Redmond Panthers had a rough season last year, but with a bunch of returning talent and impressive transfer Jace Eveland Jace Eveland 6'7" | 300 lbs | OL Redmond | 2025 State OR , there are high hopes going into the 2023 season. The playoffs should be an attainable goal for the Panthers this season, and I look forward to watching them play.
