The school moved into a brand new building just a few years ago down the street from the old facilities off Highway 521 in the northern part of Lancaster County, just outside of Charlotte, which included a new turf field. Following a 7-5 campaign in 2022, the Warriors will be looking to take the next step in 2023 and Warriors head coach Adam Hastings feels they are headed in the right direction.
“The things we knew we had to address coming out of spring are things I think we’ve addressed. One of the things I wanted to do in our program is create a ninth grade team and build our program from within and I think that’s one thing when you look at our program now, we’re going to have ninth grade football this year, which we’re really excited about. I think there’s a lot for us to look at and understand the potential that could be good for us,” Hastings said.
Jaxon Scheidt Jaxon Scheidt 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Indian Land | 2024 State SC (pictured above in the middle) returns at quarterback and Hastings says he has improved during the 7-on-7 period in getting comfortable with his receivers while taking on a leadership role. Eddie Vernier and Brysen Connor will be two guys who Scheidt will look for at receiver, while Jake Recker and Trey Rodriguez, who walked away with All-Region honors in 2022 will anchor things on the offensive line. Devin McCurry and Chase Jones are two guys Hastings is excited about on defense.
STARS SET TO SHINE
Jaden Singletary Jaden Singletary 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Indian Land | 2024 State SC , RB/LB, 2024 – Singletary will be a four-year starter for the Warriors and he did a little bit of everything in 2022. He rushed for over 1,000 yards on offense and had over 100 tackles.
“If you can bottle up what Jaden is and sell it, every high school football coach in America is going to buy it.” – Hastings on Singletary
Timir Hickman-Collins Timir Hickman-Collins 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Indian Land | 2024 State SC , LB/TE, 2024 – Hastings calls Hickman-Collins rangy, long and he can move well at 6 ‘0, 215 pounds who doesn’t play a lot of linebacker but he’s really developed into one for the Warriors and is a real emotional leader for the guys. The senior LB committed to Florida State University on Sunday, July 30.
Camdin Portis, WR, 2026 – Portis excelled in the quick game for the Warriors last year and can turn up field quickly to get extra yards. He’s another freshman who will only develop with time. He received an offer from Virginia Tech on July 28.
