As it stands, the group hasn’t seen a ton of love on the recruiting trail just yet. They’ve got proven. production behind them from last season and have already begun to take another big step forward with their game. Wait for their 2023 highlight tapes to come out, cause I think you’re gonna like what you see on film.
As always, If you have someone you think I need to see, please DM them to me on Twitter at @hsfbscout!
Josh Dubrovsky, 6’1″ 195, Montreal
Josh is a well-tooled route technician who understands how to attack a defender’s leverage. He’s got genuine build-up speed, natural deep ball tracking ability, and firm hands regardless of where the ball is placed.
Lucas Gonzales 6′ 165, Vancouver
Lucas has the body control to adjust to underthrown footballs, he can stick his foot in the dirt and get to his top speed in the blink of an eye & he keeps his feet churning through contact. He goes up and gets the football at its highest point, he has excellent concentration through smaller throwing windows and he can line-up at all four receiver spots and make an impact.
Ben Gutek Ben Gutek 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Holy Trinity | 2025 State CAD 6’2″ 190, Okotoks
Gutek is a master of the go route, he easily tracks the football over his shoulder and knows how to create late separation. On film, he uses his frame to shield defenders from the ball, he’s a brute runner who at times will drag tacklers with him and is a ruthless on-field competitor.
Dawson Hunter Dawson Hunter 6'5" | 200 lbs | WR Parkland | 2025 State CAD 6’5″ 190 Parkland
The first thing that pops out to you is the God-given size. Hunter has great footwork for a taller wide receiver, his hands & feet work in unison and he is dominant on one on one balls. He’s got smooth change of direction and he can navigate his way through tight crowds as a ball carrier.
Anderson Bicknell Anderson Bicknell 6'1" | 170 lbs | ATH Vernon | 2025 State CAD 6′ 170, Vernon
Anderson was a force on both sides of the ball last season and his production was off the charts. He’s comfortable going over the middle and he can turn a small gain into a chunk play. He’s extremely slippery after the catch and has a natural feel for route concepts.
Darius Crandell Darius Crandell 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Bellerose | 2025 State CAD 5’11” 165, St. Albert
A speedy flanker who can take the top off a defense and generates separation coming out of his cuts. He’s an athletic route runner who plays with supreme confidence at all times. He only played in five games last season, so look for his numbers to skyrocket.
