The Watch List is reserved for athletes I believe to have a ton of potential but generally haven’t had significant Varsity time yet. So, here are five guys looking to be ranked after being on the Watch List!
DL | Preston Houser Preston Houser 5'10" | 250 lbs | DL Detroit Catholic Central | 2025 MI | Detroit Catholic Central
Preston is a guy I just saw at the Hope Prospect Camp. I thought he did fine, as he’s obviously a very passionate player but currently lacks some of the fundamental prowess I’d like to see from a ranked prospect. Currently, he’s a powerful NT-type who’s greatest asset will likely be stuffing the run. I really like his JV film, and his Twitter shows a ton of off-season work. I look forward to seeing him compete on the Varsity Level!
DL | Logan Criteser Logan Criteser 5'10" | 190 lbs | DL Dakota | 2025 State MI | Dakota
Logan is a breakout candidate for this season. He’s an all-state wrestler and attended a few camps earlier this offseason. His film shows that he split time between JV and Varsity last season. Part of me thinks that if I ever saw Logan in person, I may have ranked him! There just isn’t enough film for me to fully evaluate him, and I’m confident he’ll find success on the Varsity level soon.
DB | Sam Henry Sam Henry 5'10" | 175 lbs | DB Brother Rice | 2025 MI | Brother Rice
Sam is another prospect who split time between JV and Varsity. On JV, he spent time at RB, DB, and OLB. Perhaps an ATH classification would have been more appropriate, though I see the potential at DB. First off, he looks like a DB on film. If his height/weight is correct on Hudl (and on here), I see DB as the best position for him. In addition, I trust coach K and the Brother Rice coaching staff in developing DBs. I trust he’ll find success in the future as a DB or another position!
DB | BJ Windham BJ Windham DB East Lansing | 2025 State MI | East Lansing
I have a great feeling that BJ will be ranked in the next update. His sophomore film is great, but he only has a few coverage highlights. Those highlights show some flashes. Most of his film shows good run defense.
TE | Grant Williams Grant Williams 6'3" | 210 lbs | TE Cadillac | 2025 State MI | Cadillac
I’m very excited for Grant this season. He only has a few highlights on his Hudl, though those highlights show an in-line TE who blocks well and is not afraid of contact. I’m, in general, very optimistic for his development, as he moves well on tape.
