Leading up to the complete, 300-player list on Thursday, we will count down the top 30 in more detail.
And make sure to check back throughout the week following the release for additional features and positional breakdowns.
20. Kavion Broussard Kavion Broussard 6'6" | 270 lbs | OL Zachary | 2024 State LA | 6-6, 270 OL | Zachary
The Broncos’ big, athletic left tackle remains a top-20 prospect in the new Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings and one of the top uncommitted rising seniors in the state as August approaches. Broussard saw his recruitment take off this fall as colleges took notice of his tall, long frame and athleticism, and he has continued to make huge strides in filling out his frame, getting stronger and more physical than ever as he prepares for his final high school season and a smooth transition to the next level.
19. Rahji Dennis Rahji Dennis 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Edna Karr | 2024 State LA | 6-0, 170 WR | Edna Karr (Ole Miss)
No. 11-20 is the range of these countdown that sees the most new faces of big risers entering the top tiers of the class in Prep Redzone Louisiana’s rankings, and no prospect makes a bigger leap than the “Roadrunner.” Dennis had lived in the No. 100-130 range in previous updates as a smaller receiver with elite track speed and limited football footage. The picture started to come into much clearer focus this spring as he continued to develop both physically and in his all-around game with an ability to track and catch the ball in stride all over the field, including through contact and going up over defenders with solid high-pointing skills and body control in the air.
18. De’Myrion Johnson De’Myrion Johnson 6'2" | 280 lbs | DL Westgate | 2024 State LA | 6-2, 280 DL | Westgate (LSU)
One of the first members of Louisiana’s 2024 class to see his recruitment take off remains a top-20 prospect in the latest Prep Redzone Louisiana update as the rankings continue to expand and clarify. The disruptive defensive lineman, the headline senior in an impressive run of talent coming through Westgate, is a big piece of LSU’s strong in-state recruiting for the cycle as coach Brian Kelly, new defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey and company continue to bolster the rotation in the trenches.
17. Khayree Lee Jr. Khayree Lee Jr. 6'6" | 310 lbs | OL John Ehret | 2024 State LA | 6-6, 330 OL | John Ehret (LSU)
Another rankings update and another top-20 spot for “Ree,” who has continued to trim down and work on his footwork to earn and prepare himself for a college opportunity with his home-state Tigers. Lee was the lone offensive line commitment in the class until recently and remains one of two thus far in the position group in the cycle, and he could be an addition that provides some versatility along the line as he continues to develop.
16. Wallace Foster IV Wallace Foster IV 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB Warren Easton | 2024 State LA | 5-11, 160 DB | Warren Easton (LSU)
One of the earlier pledges to LSU’s 2024 class was back in action this summer after being sidelined nearly all of his junior year, and he looked like he was well on the path back to being his old self as one of the state’s top prospects from early on in his cohort’s development. Foster was flying around the field in his Eagles’ 7-on-7 appearances, playing with the energy, confidence and aggressiveness that had burst him onto the radar as a freshman.
15. Tristan Santoro Tristan Santoro 6'6" | 270 lbs | OL Evangel Christian | 2024 State LA | 6-6, 270 OL | Evangel Christian (Baylor)
The big, athletic tackle remains in the top 15 for the second straight Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings update after debuting at No. 12 earlier this year, and he does so now as a Baylor commitment, another nice win in the Boot for coach Dave Aranda and several other former LSU staffers now in Waco. Santoro is a multisport standout who plays with quick, light feet for his strong frame and may prove to be a steal for the Bears as a prospect who has flown somewhat quietly on the radar compared to his other highly ranked peers.
14. Michael Turner Michael Turner 6'1" | 145 lbs | ATH John Curtis | 2024 State LA Jr. | 6-1, 160 ATH | John Curtis (LSU)
Another notable riser in this new rankings update, Turner’s dynamics bear some similarities to Dennis as a prospect who had raised some intrigue from early on with his track speed and athleticism, who now makes his biggest jump as he continues to develop physically. Turner is one of the smoothest, most fluid athletes in the class and, while he still has definite work ahead in the weight room, has made some strides in starting to fill out his thin frame. Turner’s recruitment exploded this spring and summer to the tune of almost three dozen additional offers before ultimately landing and committing to home-state LSU as a wide receiver — but he also has potential as a cornerback that shouldn’t be overlooked.
13. Gabriel Reliford Gabriel Reliford 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Evangel Christian | 2024 State LA | 6-2, 250 DL | Evangel Christian (Texas A&M)
The third of this group’s big risers comes from the opposite corner of the state with the Eagles’ big freak of a defensive athlete in Reliford. The recent Texas A&M commitment is a former running back now bulked up into a 6-foot-2, potentially pushing 6-foot-3, and 250-pound defensive end who was running 10.9-second 100-meter dashes in track this spring and takes pride in his ability to drop back and cover. Reliford hadn’t missed the top 30 by much during the previous round of updates, but climbed even further here to knock on the door of the top 10.
12. Koby Young Koby Young 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Holy Cross | 2024 State LA | 6-0, 180 WR | Holy Cross (Georgia Tech)
Georgia Tech, in recruiting efforts led by New Orleans native Ricky Brumfield, has dipped into the assistant’s hometown for three 2024 commitments thus far with arguably none bigger than the speedy Holy Cross weapon. The dynamic receiver and returner is a home-run threat any time he touches the ball with his combination of quickness to make opponents miss and elite track speed when he has space to open up. Young has been a top-25 prospect in Prep Redzone Louisiana’s 2024 rankings from early on and remains fairly steady here at No. 12 after peaking at No. 9 earlier in the year.
11. Joel Rogers Joel Rogers 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH West Feliciana | 2024 State LA | 6-1, 185 ATH | West Feliciana (LSU)
The Saints’ versatile leader made his big leap in the rankings earlier this year and holds steady at his No. 11 position. More of his high school highlights have come as a quarterback and playmaker on offense, but Rogers projects primarily as a safety at the next level, where he announced in June he will play for home-state LSU. He is a smart athlete with good size, fluidity and speed, plays in position with great discipline and anticipation and also isn’t shy about playing physically — on either side of the ball.
