Payton Matthews
Payton Matthews
After splitting time with several standouts on a loaded Harlan HS team last season and being one of the only returning starters at WR, Payton Matthews looks to take up the mantle as the next big ATH to take the field for the Hawks. This 6′ 170lb all around athlete runs a blazing 4.4 and has already picked up early offers from UTSA and Texas State. If Matthews takes the majority of the reps this year look for him to pick up a lot more offers very soon. Matthews has sticky hands, good in and out of his breaks. With his height, speed and length he’s a huge threat either in the backfield or down the field.
Losing Jaydon Bailey in his departure to Utah State after the career he’s had at Steele HS left a lot of people wondering who would be next in line to keep the charge running. Look no further than 2026 RB Jonathan Hatton Jr Jonathan Hatton Jr 6’1″ | 195 lbs | RB Steele | 2026 State TX . He’s no secret going into 2023 as he’s already picked up multiple offers including several P5 offers already. At 6’1 203lbs Hatton Jr is making a name for himself as the premier back coming out of San Antonio.
Philip Metzger
Philip Metzger
Fresh off the SFA camp where he won QB MVP Philip Metzger is looking to pick up where departing QB Nick Lee left off. With a rocket for an arm and the accuracy of a seasoned vet, Metzger is ready to lead his team into the 2023 season. I caught up with Metzger at a training session and had a chance to watch him throw. Philip hits moving targets in stride and on the money every time. When you think of someone who can drop dimes in a bucket 60+ yards down field you’re thinking of Philip Metzger.
Rayshun Hurt
Rayshun Hurt
Who is Rayshun Hurt? The 2026 RB is making a name for himself as he’s set to take the majority of the reps for Reagan High School. After picking up an early offer from UTSA, with his blazing 4.49 speed look for Hurt to continue to explode on the map after having great camps this summer.
Kuya Pepito is coming into the 2023 season with a 2-0 record as a starter on varsity for Brandeis High School. This multi sport athlete looks to take over the snaps for Brandeis HS with the departure of JC Evans JC Evans 6’5″ | 210 lbs | QB Brandeis | 2024 TX to Miami Central. If he does take over the snaps he’ll have a lot of help from standout WR Jaden Perez Jaden Perez 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR San Antonio Brandeis | 2025 State TX .
