65. Tayton James Tayton James 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Mendenhall | 2024 State MS – Mendenhall
What does the tape say?
Size is not a concern with James, especially at the QB position. Bulk and strength is present and quickly shows on film. Production in both the running and passing game, but skews to the running side. At his best on his feet where he displays vision and combo of make you miss and power. Good feel with the football in his hands as a runner. Arm mechanics are sporadic and do not project.
Position projection: Running Back
64. Jay Ulmer Jay Ulmer 5'10" | 160 lbs | ATH Mendenhall | 2024 State MS – Mendenhall
What does the tape say?
A bit on the thin side from a physical makeup perspective but time to grow in that area. Shows quickness on film but wouldn’t call it speedy per say. Shows some shiftiness as a ball carrier offensively with majority of production outside the tackles. Would need to contribute via pass game and special teams to contribute offensively. Shows some technical skills albeit raw as a defensive back but potential flashes. Would need to bulk up to make it on that side.
Position projection: Safety
63. Jacob Bradford Jacob Bradford 6'3" | 245 lbs | DL Saint Stanislaus | 2024 State MS – St. Stanislaus
What does the tape say?
The build is impressive with Bradford. Tall and long with no bad weight apparent. A motor shows both on the offensive and defensive line. Potential flashes on both sides of the ball but most likely projects to the o-line. Overall athletic ability isn’t out of this world but is servicable in all phases and combines well with his strength. Good pad level and bend shows on film with technical understanding. Explosiveness at the snap is impressive. A lot of potential here. Under-rated. Louisiana Tech commit.
Position projection: Offensive Tackle
62. Joe Koury Joe Koury 6'1" | 270 lbs | OL Madison Central | 2024 State MS – Madison Central
What does the tape say?
Few people are made for a position as well as Koury is for a center on the offensive line. A staple in the center of the Madison Central o-line, Koury checks the boxes. The motor is what you love most in the center of the line and shows leadership ability there. Strength is present and potential to get better. Plays thru the whistle. Contributes in all phases. Athletic enough. Extremely under-valued.
Position projection: Center
61. Christopher Jones Christopher Jones 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Hartfield Academy | 2024 State MS – Hartfield Academy
What does the tape say?
Speaking of looking the part, in steps Chris Jones. Extremely well put together kid destined for the linebacker position. Not the longest guy you’ll see but good enough. Moves well with ease. Contributes across the scheme with potential at all 3 LB positions. Violent tackler and does it with technique. Jones can really run and is an explosive type. Cuts, changes directions, turns, shows twitch. Power 5 potential for the current Southern Miss commit.
Position projection: Linebacker
