Kavius “KJ” Leonard – Callaway
A tremendous athlete with outstanding ball skills Leonard is a true ball-hawk with a nose for the football. He’s quick, instinctive, and when the ball is in the air, he’s going to come down with it. Playing for one of the best programs in West Georgia, the Callaway standout was a true weapon defensively who made 51 tackles, six TFLs, two INTs, seven pass-breakups, and two blocked field goals. A nautral playmaker, Leonard made a giant impact for the Cavalier defense as a sophomore in 2022. A stout defender who knows how to tackle, he’s a defensive back who can both hit and cover. He brings a lot to the table and flashed plenty of D1-caliber talent last year. He’s only going to get better, and when he does, the 5-foot-11 170-pounder could see his recruitment pick up down the road. He was n 2nd Team All Region DB selection last year with a strong chance to become a 1st-team selection as a junior this year.
RaShud Conaway RaShud Conaway 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Ware County | 2025 State GA – Ware County
One of the top safeties in Southeast Georgia, Conaway is a smart, instinctive defensive back who knows how to wrap up properly. He was one of the more reliable defenders on a Ware County team that took home a state championship last season. He gets down-hill in a hurry, tackles well around the ball-carriers feet, and brings good size at 6-foot-0 185-pounds. He covers the back-end well but shows a natural ability to help in the run game. He holds some smaller offers, but with a strong junior season, his offer list could increase in a big way this time next year. He has a high ceiling and has a chance to have a true breakout season as a junior this fall. If he continues to improve and show the ability to cover ground deep down the field, he’ll make a big impact once again for the Gator defense.
Grant Thompson Grant Thompson 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB North Atlanta | 2025 State GA – North Atlanta
One of the hardest-hitting defensive backs in Atlanta, Thompson, for some reason, is still flying under the radar as one of the best defensive backs in the area. He’s a tough and physical cornerback prospect who also knows how to cover. Just a sophomore, Thompson has a long frame and bound for a real breakout season as a junior this fall. The top-notch cornerback hold an offer from Akron, but he should have a lot more after the way he played last season. He reads the quarterback well, and closes quickly on the receiver. He’s also a sure tackler, making him one of the more reliable sophomore defensive backs in the area. If he continues to improve and develop this fall, more offers could be on the way.
