Six 2025 prospects debut in Louisiana’s top 30

Still relatively early in the high school careers of the 2025 class, the latest Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings update included several top-100 debuts as the overall list expanded from 100 to 200 prospects.   Here's a look at the six new additions in the top 30.     No. 13 [player_tooltip player_id='913897' first='Corey' last='Adams Jr.'] | 6-4, 240 DL | Edna Karr   A breakout spring that drew Ole Miss, Tulane and Texas A&M offers helped announced Adams as one of the top defensive line prospects in Louisiana's rising junior class: a tall, long and disruptive athlete on his Cougars' front with the versatility to play inside or out.   No. 17 [player_tooltip player_id='912251' first='Sheldon' last='Green'] | 6-3, 200 LB | Archbishop Shaw   Another high-ceiling defensive playmaker in the box, Green is a thinner athlete with some physical development in the weight room as a definite focal point moving forward, but has special athleticism from his explosive first step and all-around quickness into the backfield and leaping ability to deflect passes that stands out among his peers.   No. 18 [player_tooltip player_id='734867' first='Emile' last='Picarella'] | 6-2, 215 QB | University Lab   The transfer from St. Joseph Catholic in Madison, Miss., arrives to Louisiana with a strong case as the state's top 2025 quarterback prospect — easily the most heavily recruited thus far and the highest ranked in the new Prep Redzone Louisiana update. Picarella has good height, a strong base and strong arm and moves well staying active in the pocket or rolling out to extend plays.   No. 23 [player_tooltip player_id='914088' first='Jackson' last='Jones'] | 6-7, 290 OL | Pine   As mentioned in the top-30 countdown to the new rankings update, Jones is the best prospect out coming out of Pine since Prep Redzone Louisiana launched in 2020. Jones has a great frame for the next level, plays with aggression and moves impressively well at his size both laterally and upfield.   No. 28 [player_tooltip player_id='288349' first='Demarcus' last='Gant'] | 5-11, 160 ATH | Ascension Catholic   The Bulldogs' versatile standout has started to look the part of a potentially high-level Division-I defensive back with quick feet, a strong break and, with his leaping and timing, big-play ability with the ball in the air.   No. 30 [player_tooltip player_id='912254' first='Carlos' last='O'Brien'] | 6-1, 175 WR | Lafayette Christian   One of the taller, longer receiving targets emerging thus far in Louisiana's rising junior class, the transfer from Teurlings Catholic is a notable breakout candidate to watch in his first year at Lafayette Christian. "Pop" has good quickness and fluidity to his route-running, but stands out in particular in his ability to make big catches over defenders or through contact, using his body well to create space late with the ball in the air.
