Trey Blazevich
Trey Blazevich
Blazevich is a versatile defender that can make plays from both ILB and OLB spots. He’s a fast, powerful athlete that’s quick to react to run as an off-ball LB and at his best when playing downhill. He uses his hands, leverage, and technique effectively at the LOS and can create pressure off the edge as an OLB. Blazevich picked up his first two offers from Adams St. and Fort Lewis this summer and has potential to be a major breakout player at his position this season.
Tyler Bertalan
Tyler Bertalan
Bertalan was a productive junior MLB that totaled 85 tackles, 4 TFLs, and 6 sacks for Granite Hills’ state-championship defense. He fills aggressively between the tackles in the run game with a quick downhill trigger to the football. He shows comfort playing in space and can deliver strong contact in 1v1 situations in the open field. He has adequate size (6’/210) and sideline-to-speed to play ILB at the next level. Look for Bertalan to be one of the more productive senior LBs in San Diego again next season.
Manoouel Saka
Manoouel Saka
Saka’s one of the top off-ball LBs in San Diego’s East County loaded with defensive talent. He’s a reliable tackler in the box with an athletic OLB frame at 5’11”/190. He’s a crafty block-shedder near the LOS and can move through traffic to locate ball-carriers. He shows good lateral movement containing the edge and tracking down outside run on the perimeter. Saka picked up his first offer from D-III Pacific University in June.
Blake Schweer
Blake Schweer
Schweer flashed underrated upside as a junior and figures to form one of the top senior LB corps in San Diego alongside Fabian Gerbella Fabian Gerbella 6'2" | 190 lbs | LB Eastlake | 2024 CA . He’s a fast and physical tackler that actively seeks out ball-carriers from his ILB spot. He’s most effective at attacking downhill, shooting through gaps at the LOS and creating negative plays in the backfield. Schweer just picked up his first offer from NAIA Culver-Stockton in early July.
Joseph Minchello
Joseph Minchello
Minchello’s an athletic OLB/RB with a shorter, stockier frame at 5’8”/200. He excels as a defender in space with fluid movement, change-of-direction, and burst in his acceleration to the ball. He’s active in coverage being disruptive in passing lanes and possesses the ball skills to create turnovers at the second level. Look for Minchello to continue building off his strong junior season for Crawford.
