Farmington Phoenix
Farmington made it to the 6A semifinals and could make it there again with multiple returning contributors. Quarterback Easton Wight Easton Wight 6'0" | 165 lbs | QB Farmington | 2024 State UT is back and will lead what should be one of the state’s most explosive offenses. Running back Travis Hoopes Travis Hoopes 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Farmington | 2025 State UT also returns and will make an impact on all three downs. Look for tight end Matthew Croasmun Matthew Croasmun 5'11" | 200 lbs | TE Farmington | 2024 State UT to make plays for the Phoenix while offensive linemen Scott Purdie Scott Purdie 6'2" | 285 lbs | OL Farmington | 2024 State UT and the rest of the offensive line give the Farmington playmakers plenty of time to to make big plays. Defensively the Phoenix will be led by the elite defensive line tandem of Jacob Speredon Jacob Speredon 6'6" | 220 lbs | DL Farmington | 2024 State UT and Porter Bowcut Porter Bowcut 6'2" | 195 lbs | DL Farmington | 2025 State UT . Head Coach Daniel Coats and the Phoniex will once again be a contender in 2023.
Syracuse Titans
The Titans won Region 1 last year and could repeat this fall. Quarterback Jake Hopkins Jake Hopkins 6'1" | 165 lbs | QB Syracuse | 2024 State UT and Kobe Bennett Kobe Bennett 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB Syracuse | 2024 State UT are both back. The pair made Syracuse offenses incredibly hard to contain in 2022. Factor in the return of receiver DJ Mayes DJ Mayes 6'3" | 165 lbs | WR Syracuse | 2024 State UT and offensive linemen Ben Acker-Oatis Ben Acker-Oatis 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Syracuse | 2024 State UT and you could have the best offenses in the region. Defensively look for defensive backs Trevin Shaw Trevin Shaw 5'9" | 170 lbs | DB Syracuse | 2024 State UT and Bracken Dockery Bracken Dockery 5'10" | 175 lbs | DB Syracuse | 2025 State UT to take passes away. Syracuse also has one of the state’s best kickers in Rhett Thompson Rhett Thompson 5'8" | 150 lbs | K Syracuse | 2024 State UT . Head coach Michael Knight and the Titans could be in for a huge year this fall.
Davis Darts
The Darts will once again be in the mix for the Region 1 crown when the regular season begins to wind down. Offensively, Davis has several players set to have breakout years, including athlete McCoy Frasure McCoy Frasure 6'2" | 205 lbs | ATH Davis | 2024 State UT . Defensively the Darts have one of the state’s best defensive line tandems in Jordan Taula Jordan Taula 6'1" | 235 lbs | DL Davis | 2024 State UT and Ami Moala Ami Moala 6'3" | 310 lbs | DL Davis | 2026 State UT . Both of them possess outstanding power and technique they use to beat their matchup rep after rep. The Darts are loaded at all three levels with Jacob Faerber Jacob Faerber 5'11" | 200 lbs | LB Davis | 2025 State UT leading the middle of the defense and Nick Johnson Nick Johnson 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB Davis | 2024 State UT leading the secondary. Davis head coach Scott Peery and his team will be making noise in Region 1 and beyond this season.
